Asian retailer Checkout w/ over 50% of RIF externals

Evening all,

Was about to checkout some parts with an HK based retailer, but paused when I saw that the entirety of the basket could be construed as the majority of the externals for a RIF

M4 Receiver
M4 pistol grip
M4 outer barrel & extensions
M4 M-lok Hand guard

(some other bits and bobs too: MP5 mags, battery highcap spinner, MP5 hand guard

I'm not even buying all these components for a new build - I just have too many ARs that are due some new bits 😅 (i.e not deliberately trying to circumvent RIF import rules - but may be doing so inadvertantly)

This particular shop tends to use HK Post which then goes onto RM or PF (So not UPS)

I'm just wondering if that combo could actually get assessed as a RIF import and whether it would be more prudent to break the shipment into two lots (will cost me 15-20 quid more but that would be nothing compared to the stress of having to deal with BF etc - so that's probably my answer right there).

I use Asian retailers all the time, but this might be the first time I've ended up with this much of a RIF in one go - hence the caution.

Any recommendations or relevant experiences? that UPS thread is making me paranoid.

(Sorry not mentioning the retailer name until I checkout as the schizo part of me is certain you people will steal the stuff right out of my basket!!!!! 🤣🤪 - some seriously insane prices there!)

Better to just put the defence in the more info box just in case, you'd be towing the line at best.

Do you mean my UKARA info? or just the nature of the shipment? I have not re-upped UKARA for a while..  wasn't really planning on doing so any time soon either 🤔

I would hold off if you don't have a defense you can prove (HMRC will want a UKARA number) . A while back HMRC got wise to companies sending RIFs in bits and would stop parcels.
