Frame chopping airsoft Glock / EU17 to take 19 sized mags.

I’m wondering if it’s possible with gas blowback EU / Glock 17’s to chop down the grip to take compatible Glock 19 style replica magazines. In particular, from brands like WE or Umarex, who make GBB Glock 17s and 19s that have their 19 models compatible with 17 magazines.

 

Has anyone done this to an airsoft Glock? Did it take the compact magazines and did it retain its ability to hold an EU17 / Glock 17 magazine too?

 

This is a modification done to real glocks all the time, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to translate this to airsoft.

I can't see any logical reason why it wouldn't work - the two factors  for the ability for the mag to fit would seem to be the catch (same for both, as evidenced by the ability of the 19 to take 17 mags) and the positioning of the magwell. I'm not sure what the benefit would be unless you have a surplus of 19 mags. Kind of creating a reverse 19X.

As long as you remove enough length off the grip, you're good to go.

Also bear in mind that the bottom of the grip is a different angle on a 19 compared to a 17.
