Supporters Rogerborg Posted March 25 Supporters Share Posted March 25 Anecdote, not evidence, but I switched to a bottle of "Rebel" brand 0.28g BBs (BZ Tactical) last game day, and subsequently experienced... this... To snap one piston, Mister Borg, may be regarded as misfortune. To snap two looks like shenanigans. On disassembly, one barrel definitely had a BB stuck in the hop and both of them had 2 BBs roll out. Of course this could just be an AOE problem, and those are well used cheap JG / CSI plastic pistons being smashed by Big Dragon M140s on 11.1V, and it might very well be entirely unrelated to the BBs, but I'll be binning the Rebels and switching to something else out of an abundance of caution. Aside, this is why I prefer plastic pistons, because they're the cheapest part to replace, and everything else is intact in both boxes. Sadly, it looks like all aftermarket pistons are steel racked now, so I'll be reluctantly "upgrading". Chev Chelios and Galvatron
MrTea
Just my experience: I've been using Rebel branded BBs from BZ for well over a year with no issues - both tracers and regular, usually 0.25g and 0.28g respectively. Never had any issues with them to the point where i'd happily recommend them to people - is there any chance you've hit a bad batch if the BBs are to blame? Chev Chelios
What a c**t, feel your pain mate. I used to use Geoffs exclusively but have been using rebels in my DAS (is a very finicky beast) for the last at a guess 15 games and has not missed a beat. I am running 0.32 though. If it was me I would drop BZ tactical an Email moaning see what they say, as they are fanatical about there BBs Rogerborg

Could be, if it was even the BBs at all. Given the lack of any nozzle or tappet damage, and running at quite a snappy ROF, I'd assume AOE or premature engagement and my luck running out. It's just with two going in the same way, on the same day, after a switch to Rebels, with one definitely jammed in the hop, and seeing two other players experiencing barrel jams that day (no idea if they were the site Rebels though), it's got me wondering. Thanks for the info though, I won't be put off the brand, I'll just bin the rest of this bottle on the slight chance that there are some rogues in there. Will happily guinea pig my AEG if it means free BBs pointless them going to waste. Rogerborg
GiantKiwi
Rebels have not been kind on me - Had to dismantle and clean 7 WE M4 mags after they munched themselves whilst loading. They might be ok in AEG mags, but stiff feed lips do not seem to be compatible.
