Hello all !

Recently getting back into Airsoft after a 12 year break... not cool!
Anyway, I have just got one of these to convert into a sniper stick.
Now before you go off on one at me saying about shell ejection and how it's not upgradeable I will have to beg to differ.
For one, you can use shell catching bags which I have and it does work, and also there is springs the right width out there to upgrade a bit of the power at least.
Anyway, I have taken measurements which are as follows.

Sping wise 150MM-L x 13mm - OD x 10Mm - ID

Which i believe the Silverback M160 matches this spec pretty well ?

Piston size is 750mm - L x 17mm - OD

Anyway, if anyone out there which I'm sure there isis very knowledgeable on these things, then any help would be greatly appreciatedthank you in advance.

ehh i can't say i think this plan is gonna work out all that well.

"upgradeable" means a hell of a lot more than just a spring change to get more power.

for starters you're talking sniping, which is much more demanding for precision, which means impeccable air seal, and adding a faux shell with all it's extra leaky places to try and keep sealed consistently is not gonna help in the slightest.

then there's whatever is going on with the hop setup, and by extension the barrel too.

and that's before we start talking about how well the trigger pack is gonna get on with being asked to take the strain of a stronger spring.

don't get me wrong, i agree shell ejectors are cool, and i have respect for anyone trying to snipe with something that isn't a vsr/ssg/srs variant because variety is good for the hobby. but i'll be amazed if this works out the way you want it to.

Well i have a plan for the hop up to create a perfect air seal ocmpared to how it, i do engineering work so have some plans in mind to modify a barrel and the hop to work well.

I can also make steel versions of anything that will end up breaking but will have to find out which bits when they do.

The power and piston are my main concerns really, as i said im not trying to get insane power or anything but i think with a few good modifications and some .38-.40's i should be able to get it accurate enough to have some down time sniping.

custom making parts certainly is a way of doing things, depending what kind of equipment you have easy access to.

makes me kinda wish i didn't work in composites, not so much useful equipment for airsoft stuff in that field.

We'll...seems ive broken it !

Cant get any pressure from the piston but havent even messed with it. it still cocks and locks back then gets releaesd when you fire it.

It has shot once or twice but other than that it fires but the BB doesnt leave the cartridge ! lol

Ugh...I did make a barrell and install that with sealent around the hop and bucking where it gets fed into but that is all clear with no lumps from the hop unit so i'm a bit conffused!

Any help if anyone knows anything at all would be appreciated.

Thank you.
