totoyeahwhat123
Hey guys, I'm new here! Sorry if this belonged in another forum or something. But I'm new to airsoft. I have one CO2 pistol but that's it. I want an AEG as my 2nd. I decided I wanted a TAR-21 because it looks cool, and it stands out. I have found 3 versions: Ares Tar-21 = 400$ S&T Tar-21 #1 = 150$ S&T Tar-21 #2 = 240$ All of these prices are from Uncompany. I was just wondering, why the huge difference in price? They weight the same, and S&T even shoots at higher speed? What's the difference between the 3? Also, I heard they may not be very good out of the box, and you would have to upgrade them with new stuff. Is this true? If yes, what, and how much would it cost? Thanks in advance! Supporters Monty Posted June 15, 2013 Supporters Share Posted June 15, 2013 It's all down to build quality, fit - finish, materials used for the internals/externals and trade marks on the gun. The S&T uses fragile plastic for the body, has a shiny finish and it generally just isn't very good performance wise. The Ares version on the other hand, feels really solid, the body is made from good quality polymer, finish on it is close to the real steel and has trademarks. And for your first AEG, you might want to go with an M4, because the Tar 21's are usually not very good out of the box. And for the price of the Ares Tar 21, you can get a way better gun for that price.
Tariq
While the Tar-21 is a good looking gun, there isnt really a reliable one for airsoft. ARES make the best one, but its still not perfect. S&T are a company that work with ARES. They get all the ARES designs and make them with a smaller budget. Cheaper materials etc.
totoyeahwhat123
Thanks for the info, but if you should recommend a gun in the same pricerange, that you would say is the best in that pricerange? It would be best if it's not just another M4/MP5 and so. But you're free to say your opinion

totoyeahwhat123
Out of the ones listed, which one would you reccomend? I would also like the ability to customize it with optics, underbarrel attachments etc. And are they all better than the ARES TAR you say? And they function really good out of the box. Accurate, no errors and stuff?
