Hi there guys.

Well after much thought and experiencing a bunch of airsoft games I am getting round to buying my first real loadout. Until now I have been buying bits a pieces here and there but they were inexperienced guesses. After my most recent skirmish at The Grange I came to note that my plate carrier was too heavy and bulky. It slowed me down and tired me out quite a bit. It was great for CQC though.

Only problem is I am having trouble finding UK stores for some of these parts. I would appreciate any help you guys can give me. This may be a long post.

Shirt:Special Ops Shirt BLK M VIPER http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/...;id=VSHISOPMBLK

I have one of these in desert colour and it is a fantastic piece of kit. When you take the padding out it is very comfortable, light and breathable. Plus the arms can detach for those super hot days.

Vest:Pantac 1000D Cordura Molle MPS Chest Rig http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?...roducts_id=7093

I currently use a Flyye plate carrier. Whilst it does its job well and is covered in MOLLE, it is a bulky thing and is not that flexible. This one is lighter, more flexible and already has a pocket for macs so im not weighed down by additional MOLLE pouches flapping around. Plus I like the ACU cammo. Only problem is I cannot find a UK retailer for this. Help please!

Hydration: Condor MOLLE Water Hydration Carrier II http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?cPat...oducts_id=34533

I could get a regular smaller hydration carrier but this one doubles up for a backpack. Pretty handy for things like grenades and extra BBs for my team mates who can just unzip and take them when they need to. This is in TAN but I would like to find something like it in ACU. I am also having trouble finding this in the UK :(

Legs:

Probably some standard ACU combat trousers or something. I can search for those when I am not at work :P (nothing to do right now anyways).

Gloves: Coyote Medium Mechanix http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/...t&id=MGCMED

I know theyre Coyote gloves but these are what I currently use and they are fantastic! Fit perfectly, I can still actually feel what I am touching but when a BB hits them it doesnt hurt (as much...). First shot I ever took was to my finger in a CQC and these helped a lot!

Face Protection: Army Of Two [Custom] http://www.hiddenassassins.com/index.php/a...eathered-2.html

This is the mask I currently use. Although I have Mesh, not lenses. Fits comfortably and I can breathe easy. Only con is I cant really see my feet. The bottom 1/4 (ish) of my field of view is blocked by the mask. But other than that its awesome.

SideArm: WE 1911 http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/...t&id=JE1911

I already bought this from my local airsoft site. Treated me well so far, but I've only skirmished it once. Not ran out of gas yet too. Holster is a generic Viper brand. It will do for now.

Primary: Knights PDW Full Metal GBB Open Bolt Rifle BLACK WE http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/...t&id=GR0112

So I have thought about my primary a lot. I know i want a gas primary. My reasons are two fold. 1) The realism, and 2) I will be using it as a prop and for sound design. However I wasnt sure which rifle to get. My budget for this is £300ish. I looked at a WE HK416 but I think it would be too heavy to lug around. Same with an L85A2. So let me know if this is any good. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thats all for now I think. I might have overlooked or missed something so if I have then say so. My main issue is seeing if all this would work as a load out from people who know the gear. And finding UK retailers who stock some of the parts.

Thanks for reading, if anything I hope you enjoyed looking at some cool gear and my thoughts about it.

Generally, airsoft retailers are not the sort of places to also buy gear. There are exceptions to the rule sometimes, but you're almost always better off and more likely to find quality, effective kit at stores that focus purely on kit. Check these out, my rough order of preference for the beginner airsofter in the UK:

As for your rifle, if you've only got a pistol so far, pleae please please don't buy a GBBr as your first ever primary weapon. This crops up again and again with people looking for their first rifle and the videos you see online make these things look awesome; but those videos are like glossy glamour mags, the girls are caked in make-up and photoshop to make them seem 10x better than they really are. If you're on a relatively tight budget, get an AEG by a good brand like G&G or ICS, otherwise you'll likely be stuck without a rifle in a few games time when something breaks or your mags start leaking or it won't feed right or you're getting constant jams or inconsistent trajectories or any of the other myriad problems a GBB rifle is far more likely to develop compared to an AEG.

It seems everybody is against me getting a GBBR as my first. Dont get me wrong, I know how much effort they take to maintain. I've only had my 1911 for a short time but I already know how to strip it, clean it and do all the bells and whistles. Its fun taking something apart and maintaining it :) Its only a sidearm so its not very complicated but still I am confident I can keep up with a rifle too. Also as I said, the GBBR would serve as a filming prop as well as for my sound design. Not just skirmishing.

BUT since you all feel so strongly about it I will swap the order around and get my AEG first. Either a P90, or FN2000. I like playing both CQC and in open terrain so I have yet to choose which one... Probably the F2K because mags are cheaper. As far as I know the only decent F2K out there is by G&G?
