nicholas-c
Hey guys, about 6 weeks ago I bought a L96 two tone thing (well, I think) for £50. Why the hell not. The scope alone is worth it (Use it on my KWA M4) Outputs at around 450-500fps. Zero'd it over the last few weeks. Last week it chrono'd at 456fps with .25g BB's all good. Today I took it to Zone 13 (Awesome site) and it chrono'd at 336, 366 then 374 FPS with .2g's... Errrr what? Almost no engagement distance needed... What's going on...? I haven't touched the internals at all other than changing the hop-up, Have I tightened the hop-up enough to slow down the BB?
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted May 14, 2012 Supporters Share Posted May 14, 2012 It might just be the site's chrono combined with the BB weight you were using, every time I go to a new site their chrono usually reads about 20fps different to the last site. It can get quite annoying. Is the performance noticeably different or is it just the fps reading? The hop being on too much, as you mentioned, can also reduce the fps. nicholas-c
I didn't get to use it as the day was a mil-sim and silly sod here didn't take it out with me. There is a neighbors garage about 200-250ft away and its still as accurate as it was so it was probably the chrono...
dazz
This is normal if the rifle is a china soft. They kick about 460 when new but the stick screw compresses quickly and normally settle around 370 fps. Naturally check on another chrono and if still 370 then time for new spring along with other upgrades if u want it firing at 500. Welcome to the world of Airsoft sniping!
