Your best/worst RiF?

Favourite: PTW, couldn't tell you why specifically... I just love it. Performs well, light while having superb build quality, a 'bolt stop' without having to deal with any shitty electronic recoil system and decent mag capacity. For what I want in a RIF it just ticks all the boxes and I don't have to sacrifice anything (other than money, I guess) to get there.

Best: Between the PTW and the MWS, the MWS edges it for range but the PTW edges it in convenience.

Worst: That god awful MP7 AEP thing Marui released 10-15 years ago (no idea if they're still a thing). I used to identify as a 'sniper' when I didn't know any better, the idea of an MP7 as a backup was about as cool as late teenage year me thought it could get. Fuck me was it shit.

Worst is hands down my G&G predator. Never had so many issues with mags, parts etc.

Best really comes down to a few things.

Out of the box was my Krytac Lvoa. It was also the best looking rif i have ever had.

Performance wise was a ICS L85 that had a madbull inner barrel and prommie purple bucking. I dont know why but that thing just shot amazingly both in terms of range and accuracy.

For sheer giggles its my beloved Pts/kwa rm4 erg. Looks good, performs pretty well and kicks like a donkey in airsoft terms.

bought of guy third hand who turn out to have bought from a mate of mine.
You could almost (almost) place a value hold or value add on the provenance of these things as rare as they seem.

As a (still) relative newbie, my armoury has not seen the volume of weapons some of you folks have but I can say

worst: the spring shotgun - (an asg stockless number) my gods what was I thinking. Oh yeah, 'shotguns are cool' and yes they are, the gas on that is on the buy list will be sweet as and have all the range, power and fun that this did not, not for actual games...

Which brings me to

Favourite: we f226, yes it is my first pistol, so, yes, I am still in that 'this is so much fun!' phase. But in my last couple of up close and personal situations it has been effective and yes, so much fun. It shoots as far as I need it to and works in the cold.

Give it some years and I may revive this thread with 'best' or an edit....

? I had a Star L85 when they first came out. It was an excellent reproduction as it hardly ever worked. ?

? Robocop Auto9 pump action. Just quite a lot of fun as a plinker, thirty years ago. ?

? Custom (TM based) RPK. Again many years ago. Not especially high rof or power but when the support weapons were very limited it was very unusual and had a lot of “presence”.

Worst: tough one, there's my Cyma MP5 which never fired right from the day I got it, would work perfectly at home but get to site and it'd fire about once in every 3 or 4 trigger pulls, currently in pieces in a box. Then there was the WE Hi-Capa 5.2R, the one with the meat tenderiser on the front, loved the look of it but just couldn't get on with it in-game, sold to a mate who was really happy with it (odd bloke). There's also my SRC G36C (Gen III) I bought second hand from a mate for £80, boxed, with a load of mags, was pretty good up until the gearbox decided to eat itself.

Best: not any easier! There's my Silverback SRS 16" Sport with a few choice upgrades (thank you annual bonus!) which is just incredible. My WE G18C with the "fun switch", Mad Bull hop & Crazy Jet barrel, pretty much the range of an AEG. AEG wise, I adore my Krytac PDW MkII, light, compact and (with a Lonex inner barrel & Prommy purple) insane range and accuracy. Then there's my aforementioned G36C which went through a bit of an internal transformation after it broke, too many tweaks to list, I now run it on 0.3s, I can't wind a hi-cap fast enough to keep up with its rate of fire and it's literally like a laser (especially if I put the tracer on it), it's pretty much a one shot = one kill RIF now, and it's running at around 320fps on 0.2s.

I honestly don't know why but a lot of folk don't like to be on the opposing team to me??? ?

Best: TM MWS by far I echo what everyone else has said about it, its got to be the best gbbr out there in terms of performance,  reliability and cold weather performance. I have had GHK , VFC and WE and the TM has trumps them all its just magic.

Worst: KWC Mini uzi - absolute shite,  Could barely get a mag out of it even with good conditions.

Best: TM 416 DEVGRU. It was my first TM and has been my go-to for a good while now. I've had to replace a few parts due to wear and tear but it's been hugely reliable, has good range and is just a good looking rifle.

Favourite: TM MWS. First GBBR, worked great from the off, and I've really enjoyed turning it into the little beauty it is today. Started using it more as my primary now, with the 416 as back-up, and I just love shooting it. Pretty sure I'm going to be giving it a sibling before long.

Worst: It would either be the first RIF I got; a second (or third+) hand Classic Army M4 with a 203 USGL. Looked great but was a pretty poor shooting experience, or the first gun I bought after getting my UKARA; a G&G M4. Can't recall the model but it was part of their Top Tech range and cost around £330. It screeched like a bastard, the hop was shit and the anti-reversal latch lasted two games before shitting itself. Expensive lesson.

Best: G&G M4 or CYMA M14.  Both just perform exactly as they should.  Both accepted a few mods without shitting themselves AND actually shot even better!  All the gnus I really need (we'll ignore the other dozen or so).

Worst:  SRC M4.  Hop didn't work. Didn't feed.  Slow motor speed.  Bloody awful build quality.  Flexible receiver anyone?  or....  SRC pistol.  Never even fired a shot...

Worst:  M92F double bell. I so wanted to be mel gibson in lethal weapon. I bought a cheap gun. It is now a wall hanger after randomly dumping gas, firing at around 15fps, jamming and generally being poo. I have enough spare parts to make another one but really cant be bothered.

Runner up:  MB02 G spec. Meh. dont get sniping. many parts added. bank manager not happy with its performance. Turns out that its really slippery too with the baby poo paint job i did on it.

Best: M904G Honey badger..badger badger badger MUSHROOOOOOM. sorry. Love it. its quiet, lobs 0.28's at people in the distance and i've done lots of my learning on it so it has a special place in my collection.

Honourable mentions: both my mp5's (SD and A4) just keep going. Hate the fact that you have to strip it to component level to do anything to it but they just keep chugging along....

My own worst: Raven P226. Just cannot hop a thing. Even new parts, just refused to hop anything.

Posting on a friend's behalf: G&G SR15. It's had to have a full gearbox rebuild as it would simply explode half way through a game day on the original bearings. Came from the factory with the motor unplugged. Just an awful product for something costing over £300.

Best is more for personal reasons (unless my new tac 41 does well this weekend), but it's a nuprol delta ak21. It was meant to be a cheap project gun, learning internals, how to tinker with gearboxes etc. It's done that job well, but now it resides as my HPA DMR that has honestly never failed me for the last year or so since I've had it. Granted it's all new internals, and it took some shimming and whatnot to get the hop to behave. But it's the gun I bring when I want something that will just work. I can run it at 1j with a red dot as an assault rifle that can hit 60m pretty handily. I can cover it in scrim and use it as a silent precision weapon. Or I can pump the pressure and run it as a DMR to throw heavy BBS out past 70m. I love that thing.

Are you me? I also had the Star L85 and the Robocop plinker!! :D

Seeing as this thread has been resurrected.

Best... Ares L1A1, probably because it's the only pew I've used the RS. Have to add the Ares L85A3, it's a rif I craved for.

Worst... Ares L85A3, coz the fecker was obviously a return to Extremeairsoft & they passed it on to me as new (on closer inspection it had a repair to the charging handle (a common fault) & a stripped thread on one of the dissassembly screws.

Favourite... Cyber gun Scar-L two-tone, my first pew used in a game & it's never let me down (getting a pine needle stuck in the hop while changing mags doesn't count).

Regrets... Galaxy M200 from BBguns4less, didn't realise it wasn't 1:1 scale but it was cheap, you get what you pay for I guess (it's never been out of the box).

Got a few two tones before my UKARA, I don't regret buying them but I do regred some of the shitty rattle can jobs I did on them.
