Which Airsoft Gun Should I Purchase

Thats true, and he could get a very good gun for £300, that said, however as the OP has not been to a skirmish, i am going to stick my head out and guess he has no other kit (batteries/chargers/bb's/tactical clothing etc etc) which would soon eat into his budget.

besides if the OP was to buy a mega expensave first gun, then decide airsoft isnt for him (unlikely :lol: ), its not all his budget gone B)

Good Thinking! You're exactly right. Also are Magpul a good make? They make modified (pre- installed parts) on their stick gun i.e stock, grip etc

Cool, those are added to my list then...Have you heard of Bunker 51 - http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/gun.asp?page=bunker51 Does that sound like a good place for rental and airsoft?

Dont go to Bunker 51 for your first go at airsoft, if I had I would not be playing now. Find a local outdoor site where you can hire your kit and have a walk and talk with the other players, most will be more than pleased to discuss what to get. Bunker 51 is a bit full on and busy.

I dont know your age etc, but some younger players end up with full metal guns that are far too heavy for day long use. I would suggest starting with something in the £130 ish price range. MP5 or M4 are in common use so fixing and upgrades etc are plenty.

Some of those are quite big and heavy, depending on your size and strength you might not want to get too hung up on full metal models for your first gun. In reality light is probably best in airsoft as a "sport", our CA Sportline MP5 is great when running around and trying to scramble up a slippery slope, small compact and light. Mags might not be the biggest but easy to carry 4 spares giving plenty for most games. Also two tone MP5 would be easy to return to normal (not that I would suggest anyone should do this unless a UKARA member).

i can help with this mate but if you can give us a location we can give you maybe a walk in store or an airsoft site where you can go for a game i really do recommend going to a game before buying guns and gear as when you get out on the battle field you will see guns and load outs you like and some you dont and at an airsoft game the majority of people will love to anwser questions about there gun, gear and general questions so i do recommend going to a game before buying your stuff so you know what you like

The correct answer is this: go and actually play a game of airsoft, rent a gun, see what you think of the game and the gun and ask some other people if you can take a look at their guns and see what you think of them. Then you will actually have a modicum of experience on which to base your decision and will be able to ask a reasonable question of other players.

Why the hell would you spend hundreds of pounds on something which you don't even know if you'll like? And are you really going to buy a certain type from a certain place just because someone on here likes it? That's ridiculous. Would you go on a driving forum and say: 'hey guys, I've never driven before but I've always liked cars. I have £20,000, which car should I buy and where should I buy it from? Oh, and I've also not even remotely bothered to look into others costs such as MOT, petrol, insurance, etc. Also, is there any way that I can drive a car without a license?'

And while I'm at it: UKARA isn't a license, but there are laws regarding the sale of airsoft guns - please stop asking if there are ways to circumvent them.
