V3 Gearbox help

Ordered some of these, getting the trigger to stay in place while also holding down the spring and piston AND trying to get the other side of the shell on is the last thing stopping me putting this back together.

Ill report back.

Worst thing about it all? I found the paperwork from when i bought the gun saying it was already downgraded to fire at 322.

I didn't even need to open it in the first place 😩😩🤷‍♂️
Buy a chrono.

With regards to my shims, when im finally closing the case, should i only have on on each gear amd the anti reversal latch, one on each side, so 8 when i close it?

I seem to have more than that and i can't work out where the others were and the only thing i can think of is on the trigger?

Obviously these came from somewhere because they popped out when i opened the case but im stumped if its one shim per side of a gear

You should have the correct shims on each gear to ensure that they run freely without rubbing against each other (Ooh, matron!) or having too much lateral movement. You don't need shims on the anti reversal latch.

@Adolf Hamster provided a shimming guide earlier in this thread.

Alternatively, this approach:

Putting this thing back together is driving me insane, the last thing im trying to do is get the trigger in place but its so fucking fiddly that even the smallest knock pops it back out anf its hard trying to manipulate it while im trying to hold the spring down while closing the case.

Im abkut ready to throw it out the window and i have a game this Sunday

It can be frustrating. You might find it easier to hold the spring down by putting a long allen key, screwdiver or something similar in the screw hole in the spring guide and using that to hold the spring down with one hand.

I will give it a go, but whatever i put into the spring guide is only going to go an inch or so deep because there isn't a hole in the other side, frankly, its not the spring that is the main problem but the smaller second piece of the trigger that pushes the trigger switch, the way it is built it keeps slipping off the arms of the main part of the trigger and ultimately back out of the case.

Between that and the small space available...the trigger is awfully close to one of the gears, i cant manipulate it i to yue right place without disturbing something amd having to start all over again.

I was soooo close last night, thought i was about to get the case on finally but it was getting stuck on something mear the front of the gun and wouldnt close (maybe the tappet plate?)

Anyway, then the spring poppes out again and sent a few gears and shims spiraling into oblivion. I found the gear but that shim is gone for good
