The King Arms FAL returns!

It was a bit “meh” , but felt cheap with the Nasty plastic furniture

His Ares version is waay nicer in comparison

He served and that was his issued rifle, hence his obsession with that platform

Think the point is that the King Arms was the more reliable and easier to work on of the two. Ares of course are known for their excellent externals and crap internals.

If it does release in April, that's not a bad waiting time from the announcement.  The foregrip wasn't great from past memories although it was fairly easy to replace with a surplus handguard. The folding stock model is the one I am interested in. As above, part of the appeal was the standardish gearbox parts. From having an Ares Tavor and VZ58 in the past, wouldn't be going back to the brand anytime soon.

The LCT is a curious one. As Colin Allen pointed out, the magazines are a concern. Based on their previous record it will probably be a nice build than the KA model. The King Arms announcement boasting of their Nimh battery doesn't exactly fill me with confidence over them making improvements to the build quality or design.

The disassembly between the two models would also be an interesting point to compare and contrast. The KA was a bit of a pig to take down. If the LCT was closer to the Classic Army FAL procedure it would be a point in it's favour.

Will be keeping a close eye on feedback on the releases.

Short video on the re-release I came across on Youtube. Seems like the gearbox is a basic V3 with no mosfet. Will hang on to see if they release more models in the series. Judging by the recent LCT feedback thread, doubt we will see LCT's FAL this year.

From looking at the video it seems like this particular model has no carry handle, G1 style handguard and the imperial/L1A1 gas block.  So a bit disappointing in some respects.

Which is EXCELLENT, I love mine
Out of curiosity if you had to pick one between the VFC FAL and the G3? Which would you choose?

While i don't have a FAL to compare i do have a VFC G3. It's built like a tank, really solid with a really nice feel and operation. Mine's used and unfortunately it's totally inconsistent and needs a thorough once over.

Obviously the only correct answer is to have one of each. My dad had an FAL before they were banned, so it'd be nice to have one as well.

That's a very nice looking build. On the G3 front, surprised no company ever released a ready MSG-90.

One day i'll get round to actually getting it running right. For now it's a wall-hanger.

I think the MSG-90's just a bit too obscure. There's not enough G3 variant out there. I'd love an NGRS G3K.

It's a very impressive wall hanger anyway. Also seemingly I was wrong and Classic Army made an attempt at a MSG-90 in the past.

The G3 doesn't get enough love, would agree with you. Quite a few of the battle rifles deserve better airsoft equivalents.

I've looked at the FAL's that have been in the classifieds & threads like this one, and can honestly say I don't think I'd buy another unless it was an L1A1 with wooden furniture.

The SLR was my personal weapon in the TA & that's why I have one but don't get the same buzz from models of FAL from other countries, Never say never tho as I wasn't keen on collecting AR variants either & we all know how that went...

Don’t fancy the short shorts with a FAL then Gav?

I admire the dedication of those who pain their FNs in bush war colours, to be blunt the re-sale value will be obliterated.
And to be fair, the ethics of emulating Rhodesian Security Forces is, at best, controversial. Which is a great shame, as brush stroke camo is utterly epic.

Fair point on both counts. Had a set of Brush stroke pattern BDUs in the past, notice one or two players would be slightly "heavy" on their trigger pulls when I played in it. It's a lovely pattern all the same. Also far more easily available these days than in the past.

On the FAL front, will be curious as to whether the company expands their range... At the moment it seems to be only the one model.
