Has to get one and other bits while on sale at airsoftworld.net! Just waiting for some green gas to give it a go.

@Steveocee I believe you posted a vid about a mini mamba setup. You had a longer barrel running out the front. Did you ever put in a shorter barrel? And if so what sort of velocity were you getting?

I'm struggling to get over .5 joules with green gas. 84mm 6.02 barrel.

Be interested to see if it's a discrepancy my end or the limits of that length of inner barrel.

Nope not me.

Would anyone know if airsoft websites are getting the ctm aap-01 holster back in stock? Seems tk be out of stock everywhere.

Unless they've replaced it with the galaxy one now?

Small update on mine.

Did some unnecessary shopping and bought two CowCow fire pin locks, two TTI piston heads and two TTI npas valves.

It took 10 minutes to install everything, now I just need to chrono them and find a suitable allen key to tune the power on the fly.

I've been having lots of issues with mine recently. Upgraded the hammer set, auto sear and fire pin lock to the cowcow stainless steel stuff and now my AAP jams every so often. It feels like the hammer doesn't cock back fully and I have to remove the magazine, push the blowback unit forward, then put the magazine back in and manually cock it. If I push it forward with the magazine still in, it fires and I have to manually cock it back again.

Also upgraded the blowback unit to be the cowcow lightweight one, but I know it's not the upper because the upper works with my stock lower, and my stock upper also doesn't work on the cowcow parts upgraded lower.

I hate it ?

Did you post that on a Facebook thread a day or two ago?

There was a guy asking yesterday if there was a welrod pistol available, so i posted a pic of it. :)

I mean, other than 3d printing or that japanese guy that hand makes stuff for a small mortgage, theres nothing out there.

It felt a bit mean cutting off the trigger guard...  ?

Not that I ever use my AAP but I've got one of these set aside for when I next pop in for a coffee and catch up! I believe they're due in next week or the week after!

I've got a NexxSpeed hop unit in one of my Hi Capa's and I'm really impressed with it! So hopefully this is just as impressive!

I was going to get a Loki for it but I like the fact this has a wheel that can be accessed when the bolt is pulled back!!

Interesting! I wonder if it'd be possible to access in a black mamba upper, the ejection port on those is quite a bit smaller than stock. Not that I have any issues with my AA CNC chamber.

One thing that will always puzzle me is how most of these parts are "one dimensional", designed around ONE part (stock upper receiver in this case) without taking in consideration what's available on the market.

With that being said, TDCs are a well established upgrade that more and more manufacturers are incorporating in their designs, a few of them actually include drilling jigs (either made of metal or "single use" plastic/3d printed parts) to have a clean end result, which will also drop manufacturing costs for things like dials and leverages in general.

Now I am not saying those chambers suck, but from a designing perspective they're less efficient and convenient than, say, the first iteration of the Stalker TDC kit.

Okay you need an additional tool (hex key) to adjust the hop, but let's be real for a second, unless one brings 6 mags with 6 different BB weights in them, there is absolutely no reason to set the hop mid game, especially in a pistol that doesn't see much use outside of close range cqb environments or close range backup to a primary that requires a MED.

Let's face it, most pistols are "upgraded" purely for the sake of messing around with it. If you just want a reliable sidearm for the odd occasion you are close enough and actually remember to use it, then you could get pretty much any of the TM line and stick 0.20's in them. As I say I've got the AA CNC chamber, with stock rubber and nub, plus a 150mm Maple Leaf Crazyjet Barrel. I can hop 0.40's more metres than I'd ever try with a pistol. For use at up to 30M, I've currently set it up for 0.25's (also as this is the weight of the tracer BB's I may eventually use in CQB). I find much heavier and the BB's casually sail through the air, leaving my target plenty of time to duck for cover.

I've currently got a TDC in my AAP, it was sold by someone in partnership with airtac. I believe this came out before the stalker and Loki hop units as well but I could be wrong.

The quality seemed fine when I purchased it but part of the TDC has now cracked. It's very very brittle plastic / resin that has a screw hole very very close to the edge. This has caused uneven hop and the BB's do a rather cute "wiggle" when they leave the barrel ?

I've not used my AAP outdoors for a long time so will be nice to have a tinker and get down to the range and see what range I can find with 0.32's.

I'll drop some pics / videos and my initial thoughts once I've picked it up!

So I will 100% vouch for the new Nexxspeed AAP hop unit. I had a Loki in mine and it was a bit shaky, as it was installed a fraction of a millimetre off-centre, so all my shots were curving slightly to the side. I bought the new Nexxspeed unit after the one in my hi-capa was a phenomenal piece of kit and the AAP one is just as good, if not better. With a 50 degree Flamingo rubber, mine was sailing .32s out past 60m (only really accurate to 50m) with very little hop up applied. I could probably put .48s through it and hop them very nicely, but I'm not an asshole so I won't. Also, with the short stroke and lightweight blowback unit it splurges the entire mag in under a second when the fun switch is flicked on and with .48s that'd probably bankrupt me within a game. Won't be using the full auto much (just for a few people who deserve it ;) ), but on semi-auto it was also getting through 4 mags on a single fill today, shooting quickly and one after the other, so I reckon that'll be fine even into winter.

All in all, I'm super happy with the build now that the Nexxspeed unit is in. Pistol build complete :D

It's still currently sat on my workbench in the garage awaiting installation.....I just haven't had any time and won't be playing Airsoft for another month probably ?

Are you just using the standard nub it comes with? As my mates just got the harder nubs in stock, but if it's flinging 0.32's to that range then I think it'll be reet. I'm sure it's got a flamingo in already!

I'm tempted to sell my HPA tapped drum mag and get an MP5 adapter for it. But it's more money into a gun I hardly ever use ?

Yep. Standard nub that came with it and a 50 degree flamingo with a 131mm 6.04 crazy jet barrel. I only have the hop up wheel at about 1.5 for a lovely trajectory on .32s and it goes up to 9, so I reckon I could hop .48s with it if I needed to (I don't need to...). Effective range is still around the 45 - 50m mark with the .32s, especially when shooting with a well-zeroed red dot, but if I see someone at 60m I'm confident I could empty a magazine and one would probably hit them :P

Personally, I'd keep the standard nub unless I was doing some sort of carbine DMR build with it and wanted to put .48s through it. As I said, I'm at 1.5 on the hop wheel (it goes 0 - 9) for .32s, so using the standard nub gives me a bit of wiggle room if I go to a CQB site where they limit BB weight. With a harder nub, it may even over-hop .32s unless I put maybe a 60 degree Flamingo rubber in it.

My stock AAP hammer finally broke (as was expected). Which replacement would you recommend? I’ve seen a stainless steel version from Action Army itself, CowCow,  Tridos Design and TTI. Which one would you recommend? The one from Tridos only comes with the actual hammer but has an ‘easy install’ clamp.

Do you recommend updating the complete hammer set or is it enough to just replace the hammer itself?
