Hello,

I own a ARP 9 and I use 11.1 lipos with said ARP.

Recently the trigger contact wore out. After a painful 5 hours of fighting with the springs and circuits I fixed the issue as the contact was just loose or something. It then failed again. I am now in a dilemma and need a second opinion. So I use my ARP once every week and need it to be reliable and to be able to last a long time as it's the only AEG I own. I have been talking to FUBAR BUNDY in Leeds and they say that they can fit a optical mosfet GATE ASTER.

They would install this for £135 obiously providing the aster and do a service for £35 so £170 all in.

The gun only cost me £275.

I mainly want some one else to install it because after the horrors of today I don't want to experience it again.

Is this a good price for installation and a service?

Also will the ASTER last me along time and is it reliable?

Thanks

Sometimes you have to bite the bullet. I've often spent too much trying to fix things past the value of the gun, just bear in mind it's not just the value of the gun it's the extras like the magazines also.

£135 is great unless you can do it yourself.

@ButcherBill @Austeyr

The price includes the aster also and no i cannot install it. As proven by today haha.

But you feel the price is good?

As I dont know much about prices of tec stuff.

Many thanks

I don't know the going rate, but if I tried it I know the pew would never work again so £170 inc the service seems good to me,either that or replace it with a new pew

@ButcherBill I have only had the arp for 4 months so I don't want to swap it out just yet but thanks for the advice I will go ahead with it.

Thanks

The place I bought it from said that the warranty was only for 2 months and with me opening the gear box I am assuming my warranty is shot?

@ButcherBill

Try getting in touch with TheCageAirsoft. They'll let you post in your RIF and their prices are good when I used them last in 2023 - they only charged me £67 labour for what amounted to a complete overhaul of my stock MP5 - I provided the majority of parts required.

Nothing wrong with shopping around for better quotes.

I would recommend a Perun V2 Hybrid over the Aster; however, others may disagree.

Fully agree, anything but an aster is my opinion now after having 7 of them go wrong (Software wise) all with the same fault

Or replace the contacts and drop down to a 7.4v lipo? Or 9.9v Lifepo4? As they won't burn out a trigger on any rif.

Either way it's going to need tech work if you can't do it yourself so best to get a basic MOSFET and keep using your current batteries for overall cost most likely.
