Lets talk M16....

i have a ics m16a3 in plastic and its half decent,i would reccomend them as the gearboxes are easy to get to,i want to get a ics m16 ras and dmr it then have a 350 fps upper and a 425 fps upper as i play at a urban site that only allows semi auto at 350 fps then have the 425 fps for woodland

My mates G&P M16 is still running strong after 3 years. Only needed a spring change since then.

ive heard mixed reviews from them, liams and eds havent done that well by the sounds of it

Mine's fine now, I love it. Only problems were it wasn't shooting very consistent and was high FPS.

To solve the consistency, I put the stock hop rubber and nub back in (removed MadBull ones). And to lower the FPS, Fire-Support drilled a very small hole in the nozzle, as if to give an air leak, which lowered the FPS by 10 and increases consistency.

Other than that, it's great. You'll need a high mAh battery to run it.

Has amazing trigger response and ROF, good range and accuracy (although I have a TBB installed), my favourite thing is the externals though, really high quality and realistic.

On a side note, Josh, do you go to Melton (MAW)?

cyma do good aks,any m16 you can customise the hell out of it so i would recommend a m16 but its your choice

I'd probably go with the G&P, you're getting proper colt trademarks that way and the company themselves make 1000x more after-market parts than VFC do so you're far less likely to ever ponder the old "will this fit my gun?".

if you get a m16 with an above average FPS, good inner barrel and some other bit's you'll have excellent range and accuracy and much like the m4 you can add what ever you want to it with RIS also if its a M16A4 it should be full auto instead of tri burst

A2/A4 = Burst

A1/A3 = Auto

but with airsoft doesnt really matter :)

i have the G&G GR16A2 (Plastic Body) and its solid as a rock and shoots phenomenally, just want to get a flat top receiver for it!

I think a lot of the problems I had with mine were because I bought it second hand and although the owner said it hadn't been used, it had a stripped piston when it came.

I had Patrol Base sort it for me, but they only fitted it with an M90 and it's just terrible, I hate it, range is terrible, accuracy is terrible, the sights don't line up with the barrel, it's like the barrel is mounted pointing a few degrees to the left.

It also feels bad to me, too light and aesthetically not quite right, the fore sight isn't as deep as it ought to be, just little niggles like that.

That said, it will be good once I've finished adding to it, (planning on making it a true A4) and I'm really looking forward to having it then, but it looks like it'll be a long time coming because of the costs.

However, if I could choose which one to buy (I got mine from a swap) I'd get the ICS or the G&G one, because I have experience with guns from both those manufacturers and I've never had a problem with anything from either of them.

Ok,

I should have around £330 to play with. What do you people think I should do with it?

Looking at Real Sword Type 56 but they have been out of stock for years. or a G&P M16 with some fancy parts.

At the moment, can anyone recomend any optics for the M16?

How can we recommend optics? Do you want a red dot, eotech, acog. Etc. There's too many- what's sort do you want?

I dont know really. Sothing with clearnce over the front post as gas blocks are stupidly expensive for what they are.

So many options!

An Aimpoint M2, Comp M4 or a T-1 on a high enough mount will pretty much clear the front sight, you won't manage that with an EoTech. Alternatively anything that magnifies 3-4x won't show the A-frame in your sight picture either.

ACM gas blocks can be had cheaply enough, ebaybanned do a few.

Think I am ready to go.

But, What connector does the M16 use?

If you mean battery connector, most are tamiya type although if your going for a g&p there normally deans connectors,if your going for a g&p m16 with a full stock you may want to wack some foam in the stock so the battery does'nt bang about as deans connectors can sometimes pull apart.

My G&P M16 has a large Tamiya connector, and I've not had a problem with the battery banging around in the stock, although foam is probably a good idea - thanks :)

Well I am currently stuck between a Real Sword Type 56/2 or a G&P M16 with a new barrel and hop..

Hmmm....

Just wondering if you guys have come across the railblaza mounting system and if it is as good as it looks. I need a away to mount my weapon both mobile and at home and I was thinking about using the ghold thingy.

will railblaza be strong enough for the job?

I've seen it here:
