New guns battery cable too short for M16 stock - Battery wire extensions - Are they ok to use?

Good Afternoon All!

Apologies if this has come up before, I have searched the forum  and the newbies guides but couldn't find an answer. 

I just got this RIF and added a solid M16 Stock on it (because why wouldn't you, look at it)

Unfortunatly, the battery cable which was meant to be used as a buffer tube housing, is too short. 

It stops at around this red line

As you can imagine this make connecting the battery impossible. I could technically keep taking the stock off but the screw to connect this is small and took a lot of effort to get it in. So I am thinking of getting a small Deans extender cable and wrapping in with electrical tape to prevent it disconnecting to extend the cable a bit. 

I wanted to ask here first as I know LiPo's can be temperamental will that effect anything if I add a 1-2 inch extender? 

I currently don't feel confident enough to just wire a longer cable directly, perhaps once i meet a few more experience air softers in person, I may ask for help but currently I don't have that support structure around me except for you guys .

I use xt60's instead of deans but have been using a short extender on my M4 for the same reason for a while now, and it's probably done 3 game days with no issue. 

Realistically adding a short section and an additional pair of connectors shouldn't make that much of a difference assuming everything is clean, the connection is tight and the wire gauge on the extender is the same or greater than the main cable run.

It shouldn't be a problem; one of my guns has that setup because of the way it dismantles.

I've used battery extension cables before with no problems. In theory the extra connection should cause slightly greater resistance but this will be minimal and not cause any noticeable effect to performance
