Gun picture thread

3 weeks in development and i have a working prototype / proof of concept Bren gun hicap

Yes its rough around the edges but the point is to see if I could jam the internals of a thompson hicap into the end of a genuine Bren magazine, rotate the feed 180º and have it feed successfully and i can happily say the concept works.

Because the wheel is on the bottom after the hicap has fully un-wound itself it must be removed and wound back up, this is after every 400 round approximately. The hicap holds about 1000 rounds.

Yes the realism with a 1000rd bren gun is bad but at least on an open day against hire guns running around with 500rd m4s it can remain competitive.

Speaking of Viva Arms Brens, they shared this with me yesterday. After really, REALLY insisting it should be made of CNC aluminium, they have obliged.

I can't say for certain that after this fix they will have zero issues, purely because I haven't used it yet, for obvious reasons.

But, I'm quietly optimistic, there are many nice things about these that have been immediately overshadowed due to this issue.

Built out my King Arms M1 Carbine, inspired by GarandThumb's recent review.

Cut down and threaded the outer barrel. Added a Silverback Fatcan. Top Rail with Aimpoint and M600 Flashlight.
I also installed a longer inner barrel, barrel spacers, 3D printed nub and drilled the top of the receiver to allow for TDC hop adjustment (Huge improvement).

This is my L119A2. I opted for the 15.7" variant since I have yet to see another due to the 10" variant being far more popular.

She is pretty chonky, at around 3-4kg with everything added, and is solid as a rock.

I am aware the trades are wrong, this is going to be converted into a C8A1 when the parts arrive.

I’m considering getting this rifle

Any tips or things to note ? How’s the recoil ?

Thanks

Shep

To be honest this was the first time I’d tried it.
It was cold at the range and the gas I was using was giving inconsistent results. I tried .36 BB’s which were ok but I’ve purchased .4’s to see how the fly.
The recoil is very nice & strong.
Sorry I can’t give you any better info.
