Gun picture thread

Neither a full gun nor a picture. But something you'll probably never thought about or wished to see. A JLS RX4 Outer barrel getting some weight reduction on a lathe today.

The JLS Outer Barrel is surprisingly made of very solid steel, as such, it is very front heavy. A buddy of mine has access to a lathe at work and shaved a few mm to cut it's weight down by a quarter.

Annoyingly it is only Steel on the part of the outer barrel inside the receiver. Once it is external to the receiver they decided to epoxy a Zamac outer barrel extension to it (Which has oxidised due to age). Whyyyy?

Aye. Bought the last brand new one known in the world a couple of years ago from a shop in Denmark, 90 quid! I've never used it, but being NOS for well over a decade it was not in the best of shape internally when I received it. Haven't used it in anger; It's currently in bits and will hopefully be reassembled tonight with new air seal, gearset and motor parts. Ready for its first skirmish this weekend!

Thought I'd drop my Shughart M14 build on here. If anyone has a spare G&G stock going that has textured areas around the pistol grip and in front of the magazine well, i'd be keen to get it as the real stock I have turned out to be entirely too much faff to work into it.

I do like a traditional styled M4 with carry handle and a handguard with covers on rather than exposed rails everywhere.

@PinkGunloving that collection. I want to do a gun wall but Mrs Eezer won't allow it. Bad for the Feng Shui, or gives the wrong impression to the neighbours, or she doesn't want the house resembling a Ukranian defence bunker, or some keech like that. Might do it in the garage then...

I know my MWS is gucci'd up but I do love the classic look. My WE M4 basically looked like that the 2 or so years I used it

Any 1911 fans out there? Here's the latest build that I tried. It won't be replacing my glock for skirmishes anytime soon, but a cool build nonetheless..

Did you know people do bowling with 1911's? Apparently it's called "pin shooting" and there are specific styles of 1911's catered to that. Here's the post that inspired this build -> https://www.thearmorylife.com/bowling-with-a-pistol-a-guide-to-pin-shooting/

Wanted to get a short compensator like the real-steel examples in the article, but couldn't find any similar so I went with a 45" muzzle chamfer instead. With the looser tolerances of airsoft it doesn't look as blended to the bushing as RS, but I think I like it. I had to learn the hard way that stainless takes a lot longer than you think to grind out using hand tools...?

In certain angles it makes the bore of the outer barrel look bigger than it actually is

I loved my kwc 1911 but it's too heavy to be a sidearm really

Nice to see people actually using them in skrimishes! I might get some extra mags and try it out as well..

tbh I wish companies made aftermarket steel inner frames for the 1911 like they do for marui glocks; even with the aluminum kit and stainless parts it's ~.8 kg

Very nice.

Could I ask what the base gun was?

And who makes the Springfield Armory slide?

Very nice.

And who makes the Springfield Armory slide?
Thanks!

The base gun was a TM MEU. I used the frame of a springfield MEU kit from Guarder, and the slide is a hi capa 5.1 slide also from Guarder.

I wanted to have the adjustable hi capa sights on a 1911 frame, along with rear-only slide serrations like a SA range officer.

Rest of the parts are a mix of AM, Guarder, and Nova
