WT5 here just 1 item away from full 500ilvl gear. Starting to worry about gear sets but they nerfed crit so weapon dmg seems to be the only builds people are running. 

I hear the way to go right now is blue and green mods rather than the high tier weapons!

yea the high end mods need too much skillpower to activate them so people run low level mods so they get the boost from them.

I think they roll a second character and and transfer via the stash.

Yep, mod farming in the Dark Zone with a second character.

I prefer to just...you know...play the game.

Me too. I don't think it's intentional from the developers so they will balance the mods eventually I think.

Its a bit of a pain... So I picked the recon? role as my option but cant use the gun.... what do I have to do to level up to use the function?

Should be able to switch right to it by holding Triangle/Y/Whatever key to switch weapons..

Ammo is sparse though.

Go back to white house swap to another one and swap back gives you 6 ammo. I do this before tough missions. 

WT5 tho and done every invaded mission on second hardest difficulty. Hardest isn't rewarding because you get 1 extra high end item which can still roll under max ilvl just like the other difficulties.. 

Bit bored of the content currently wish the higher difficulty had a reason other than
