Cringe in Airsoft

If he is looking at hours of footage of shots dropping low, then he is seeing where his shots go and is using his footage to learn - unlike all those players who call out ‘cheats’ when their shots are falling away

My post was made in jest, I don’t really have any objection to someone who wants to film their game to watch later.  I plan to do the same when I can remember to buy a mount that doesn’t immediately fall off.

Just had a funny mental image of someone with more camera than gun running round wondering why they can’t aim straight.

I will embrace the cringe. I do plan at some point on getting some cameras and becoming yet-another-youtube-airsoft-sniper, though I have no compulsion to make a career of it and play into the drama-farming Youtube algorithm. I do think I have some interesting things to share though, part of which is a unique setup amidst the sea of over-engineered full body ghillie suits with MTWs, Tac-41s and Novritsch rifles.

Will see though. I may just decide I can't be bothered and it's low on the priority list...

My post was made in jest.
I was reading the posts as in jest (along with the rest of the thread)

But since the first post had been intending to drop in a word to avoid the potential of someone one day reading posts in the manner of a downer

(((( I was also in a bit of a grump this afternoon with lots of people interrupting my day today, and not achieving my planned stuff )))

Zombie themed Halloween games. In fact I'd go even further and say all holiday themed games. Inevitably they're always the same, just with some people in costume and the same cookie cutter games with bugger all thought gone into the actual game mechanics

Agreed. Themed games don't feel too special and get too common.

We're all pretending to be something we aren't & dressing up, so as much as I wouldn't be seen dead in a 'costume' at a game, I really like to see players who go all in and wear either full wehrmacht or pink fluffy bunny.

I wish I had the confidence to do it but I'm too reserved.

I remember a few very good halloween games, including one where a fully costumed Xenomorph crept up behind me and ripped my head off!, in a LARP kind of way of course! 😆

The gunman Tuddenham halloween game last year and the year before were awesome! There was a great balance between it being larp/special in that they had a drone that blew stuff up, 7ft terminators that fired bbs due to motion sensors, marshalls doing "cut scenes", xenomorphs, predators, a strangely erotic Sarah Connor (was it a dude?) Skeletons hanging from trees (as per the predator movies!) then there was also games happening, with different (but similar) objectives and the game play was great.

Normally, yes, most zombie games or Halloween games are meh - however extra special effort was done and it paid off - unfortunately a change in head marshall means I suspect it won't be as good.

I have to say, I've only done a couple; both by the lightfighter crew back in the day and really enjoyed the Halloween events!

Pistol & shotgun only, which made things much more interesting, some cracking design and thought put into them and overall just great fun!

Can't speak for any these days though; last one was about 2008/9

Love pistol & shotgun games, so rare to hear of them these days😕
There’s a CQB site attached to the back of Extreme Airsoft near Leicester who have pistol only events and occasionally have special buy a pistol and a couple of mags and get a free game where everyone plays with that pistol and 2 mags.

It’s an interesting game,  very strategic where you have to choose your shots and make time to reload rather than just running in with a 250 BB midcap in a silent M4.

That's why I like running GBBs so much. Limited ammo forces me to pick my shots, and reloading under fire feels incredible when you nail it.
That's why I love GBBR too. Plus the realism to their operation and strip down. Gives me some nostalgia to my time in the Forces, still remember the whole weapons drills for the l85 off by heart haha.

I actually like the costume part. My second ever game was a halloween one and i went alone, not knowing anyone. Being in a stupid animal onesie was a really good ice breaker and i ended up talking to loads of people, it made the day so much more fun.

I will embrace the cringe.

That's pretty much my view on it all. Everyone's enjoying themselves, not harming anyone else.

Hey dude, this would be me but i have a medical condition so everyones lynx and deodorant and cig smoke etc hurts my head, causes head pressure, breathing difficulties/coughing,  blurred/double vision makes me feel like i have motion sickness , i zone out constantly like focal seizures and also a chance i end up bedridden with joint and muscle pain (my body attacks itself) for 3-4 days. Everyones fragrance to me smells incredibly strong or if i breathe through my mouth it tastes like ive licked the can  .

I live in complete isolation outside of airsoft and can only meet family or friends outside which most wont do so i sometimes go months without seeing anyone.. and airsoft is one of the few things i get to do so yeah i have to have my face covered all game, in safe zone , also in the shops the bus the train etc i get less weird looks at airsoft wearing a respirator than on a train or bus though 🤣 (no i dont wear a mili one on transport, is a half face one)

But before this when i used to play many years ago i would always interact and chat with others also at lunch and in safe zone, examining various guns and also subjecting people to my really bad jokes. I sure do miss those days.... now i always sit on my own at lunch in the car park

What i find really cringe in airsoft is the elitists who spend thousands but then shittalk new players or people returning who have purchased some guns and gear and just getting into it again i guess not everyone has a hefty budget or rich outside of the game
Do you play at the new dragons lair?

Personal cringe inducer "what map are we playing?" The UK generally around here...
