I tend to play on the "under 18's" kids type days with my boys and the ultimate cringe is the guy we refer to as "full auto dad" (or FAD for short).
His boy is great, good player, get stuck right in, but dad has to keep yelling at him to do this, and do that, raar raar etc, the kids having a blast and completely ignoring his dad.
Heard him telling the kid at lunch to move like this and shoot like this.
Dad however runs around like a speed laced chicken, blasting everyone with full auto (hence the name).
Once he cornered my boy and from about 2 meters, lit him up, full auto and really upset him.
We had a quick word and that was it, FAD was on a hate offensive for me..... I mean, grow up, we're just LARPing with plastic guns ffs.

For me, the objective of Airsoft is to win, and I do my best to win while playing fair. The *aim*, is to have fun doing so.
It's a balancing act IMO. On the one hand, going all drill sergeant at your team and getting up in people's faces over the results is bad in any hobby. On the other, you kinda ideally want your team to be energised and giving it a good go. A very small minority of players seem to think trying at all is a bit cringe, lmao.
I find it's fun to try and gin up folks for a push, or to hold a spot. Most people want to get stuck in but get a bit lost or a bit overwhelmed, so giving them a job tends to work. If they're hiding behind a tree all game as the action moves away from them, a gentle nudge to come along with a few others seems to work.
Especially if you remind them why they're there. That's way to cool a gun to not come push up with us, you wanna cover our flank while we try and go straight in?

I can really get that from a modern prospective. One reason I only post Airsoft content on my Airsoft Instagram that has no connection to my main main socials. (Other than my photography one tagged in it) And Facebook I don't even use anymore so that doesn't worry me. But fully understand that concern.
The full auto players are always annoying when they only use full auto even at 5m engagement distance. Like come on man over kill. But then again I'm a GBBR player so full auto is a rare thing for me. Suppose to some I may fall into a cringe as I use real caps and only engage when I can clearly see the enemy.

You've hit the nail on the head there. I think what most people here are posting about are the ones who either base their whole enjoyment of a game solely on the result (yes it's nice to win but that's not the be all and end all), or will scream and shout at others (often people they don't know) to follow their plan no matter how bad it is while staying so far back they might as well be in the safezone

For me it's just this. Ive had a guy on one game day pissed out team didn't achieve one objective all day that he wouldn't say anything nice to any of our team. Bearing in mind we had a big disadvantage from the off that the other team had 90% regulars on and they worked with the marshalls to make things in their advantage (another thing I don't agree with as Marshalls should be neutral no matter who it is) and our team had all the first time players and rentals.

Trying to single out the cringiest things in airsoft is a bit like pointing out the lemoniest part of a lemon.

- The Compensator. Desperately masculine, loud, edge-lord, every morale patch is practically peeling itself off it’s own Velcro to tell you, your mates, anyone near you, that this guy, this guy right here is not someone you want to mess with. Nevermind the fact that he’s playing with a toy gun, just because his boss talks down to him and his wife doesn’t respect him, YOU should know what you’re dealing with. Every sentence starts and ends with swearing and you’re gonna hear it, oh yes mate you will, no matter how far away from him you try to stand. Brought your young kids with for the day? Well this is a man’s game, it’s not his problem they hear grown up talk and he’ll just swear a bit louder to make sure they fuckin well do.
- Scene of crime officer. You cross his path, both bring guns to bear, your hits land milliseconds apart. It’s a trade, you can both be in and out of spawn in less than two minutes. Or so you think. Mr SOCO wants to stop you in your tracks, he hit you first he claims and before you can utter the first syllables of ‘yeah mate let’s just call it a trade’ he’s already describing to you moment by moment what just happened to prove, at length, that you are wrong. You walk away back to spawn. You think he’s still there, telling someone else who happened to stumble past him and who is now considering a BB to their own head just to get away.
- Clique-Ops. These guys showed up together, they’ve got squad patches and identical uniforms. You’ve not seen them speak to anyone else all day. You got lumped in with them to balance the numbers. ‘Alright?’ You offer as your opening gambit before the round starts. One of them glances shyly at you, the rest proceed to ‘mic check, mic check’ before continuing their conversation that excludes you. The klaxon goes, they make a beeline in the opposite direction to the objective whilst you resignedly set off to move a jerry can from one oil drum to another by yourself. You finish the round covered in BB welts and cuts. Your team has lost. You scored the only points. You see them back at the safe-zone celebrating how well they played.

If you're around the Central Belt of Scotland I have a sneaking suspicion we go to the same site.
Marshalls not enforcing team balancing is indeed cringe. Stopped going to one field as it essentially became all the mates of owners hunting rentals like they are Rambo in first blood!

Add to that 1st time at site player and yeah, that's cringe. Marshals playing favourites; timmy, just ask them out, jesus, don't make it my problem.
Can whole heartedly agree those mocking others is super cringe, but that mocking gear or gats, we all playing toy soldier, chill. The "why not rent till ukara" crew are in this as well. It's not the bright red you have a problem with as I saw you gushing over that abomination of a hpa aap1 like its the best you've seen, just elitist.
Oh, man clique ops - been a while since I've seen it but yeah, that part/half of the team appearing and taking the last two kills of the game after "new to site" and rentals slog up a hill - especially- especially when, if they had pushed with the objective the game timer would have hit our favour. (Yes I play to "win" but mostly that's where the action is going to be)
