"blowback" Vs standard G&G Gearbox compatibility

I recently picked up a second hand G&G MP5, and it turned out to be the 'blowback' version.

Unfortunately, the gearbox actually exploded on me, so that's now kaput.

I've never owned one of these, and I've no interest in the blowback feature. Is it otherwise compatible with a basic V2 gearbox, or were the G&G EBBs their own design?

If it's simple enough, I'll just swap out the whole gearbox and transplant what MP5 specific parts o need or would I need to locate the exact same gearbox?

In terms of just the gearbox, it should be a straight replacement; I have replaced a G&G blowback V2 gearbox with a non-blowback one in an M4 with no problem. However, you may need to look at how or if removing the blowback affects the fake bolt; I am not sure what holds it in place without the blowback unit.

I disabled the blow-back feature on my G&G by removing one bolt.

Tbf it probably doesnt leak any more air now than it did out of the box......
