Airsoft in the rain

Was going to write something about mil/simmers expensive waterproof kit etc etc blah blah running away from rain but quite literally blacked out from the dullness of my own comment.

When it's chucking down I wear this over my BDU:

WATERPROOF-RAIN-SUIT

Does the job and the jacket fit's in a small dump pouch if need be (not worth losing the trousers in a game!).
For a moment I thought it was the awesome sympatex flecktarn parka.

Cheap as chips and it's a proper membrane (just like the ultra common GTX dpm jacket everyone and their mom has, including me).

But hey, that works too!

Imo, a wet neck is the worst because it's super uncomfortable to look around in + it goes down. Anything else I'm fine with; I just make sure my collar is up.

iv played in allsorts. if its been heavy at the start of a day and its been how ive hoped to play turns itl pour the whole day I usually take the rare chance of a lie in instead.  but if its been an ok day and I got there and its changed iv put up with it. by that point im in the mind-set. course I find in certain ways it changes the day- visibility is reduced through haze, and googles getting wet/ steaming up/ sound of rain against hoods etc. the place I used to play put some plastic sheeting over its wooden corridors and a few out buildings so there was shelter when it was heavy but also made tat those building became more fought over in rain etc.

ive fond memories of once playing in hail wearing a trench coat and the hail bouncing off me so I couched down for ages in it realising I couldn't tell if I was being hit was near  covered in hail keeping my corridor covered. always wanted to lay in snow and wear a white poncho...,

Fuck that. I’d rather take a combat machine out then my setup ?. Too expensive too risk it I’ll stay inside thank you :)
*laughs in fully mechanical HPA engine*

So its due to rain Sunday...

Dare I ask who's going out and who isn't?

I played last weekend and it chucked it down on & off all day. Great fun!

Seconded.

Have you seen the pictures by the way, believe there is one of you.

One of my best days of airsoft was in heavy rain whether that was down to less people being there or everyone just slugging it out I’m not sure. Was definitely worth the soggy feet though

If you're airsofrting in the rain, you have to go balls deep. No half measures. Once you accept you're going to get utterly soaked you can move past it and concentrate on running around mopping up all the playerscowering under any cover they can find.

Recently I went to my local site and the heavens opened up, just as the first game began!

Was tempted to leave half way through, but was persuaded by a few people I never met before that day to stay (same team players), now we meet up every 2 weeks, new battle buddies! ?

Despite the weather had a Great time, with the few hardcore players that stayed! ?

The funniest thing for me that day, was charging a fort with a Winchester, got shot in the arse, then falling on my backside on the muddiest part, all had a good laugh, especially me! ?

The hardest part was my boots with my soaked feet, making that soggy squelch sound, when trying to move around quickly!

Not my ideal choice, but worth it.... Keep waterproofs on standby and get them on before you start, lesson learn't! ?‍♂️

?GAMBLE?
