When putting film on make sure the lens is as clean as possible, and apply it with a little very mild fairy water misted onto the film and lens. Then squigee it out, this will give the clearest view / best bond I know people worry, and it’s understandable with replica optics but don’t forget that the likes of Eotech etc are ballistics rated and will take ridiculous punishment, like 2M drops with the full weight of the gun above it - and keep zero, let alone not cracking the lens etc!

@RMDavis shes looking fine for sure, i think you need to weather the rest of it a bit, the 551 looks ace, looking a bit tired will only add to the authenticity of an 'older' build. Maybe some distressed / worn off FDE, residual in the creases of the reciever mouldings etc? The 551 should put up with BB joules no bother, i would get some 3M heli-tape and just put a layer on the front lens to take the sting out of a BB strike.

The MWS trigger function and reliability is perfect. However it is a bit mushy, and the wall/reset are weak and slightly variable. This can be improved upon as mentioned recently and historically in this thread.

@Hypokondrikern The MWS itself is pretty lightweight, especially with a modern hand guard/rail. The trigger set is proprietary ZET system, you’d be a fool to change it out, all made of steel, and superbly reliable. The buffer tube and receiver are also high quality aluminium, and the receiver is cerakote’d.

On TM mags normal air is dispelled from the full valve whilst gassing up. Thus you fill with gas, hissing is normal air vacating the mag, then when you get a spurt of gas/liquid the mag is brimmed.

There’s always one ☝️ Some feel nice, some look nice, not many work nice in airsoft. What I meant was, for example; the TM ‘polymer’ is shiny, but it’s stronger than a lot of nicer looking stuff.

@#blackadder just wow! Yes JG guns of old where awesome bang for buck. Most of the plastics are not polymer. That said on a budget the older G&G advance series is pretty good. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-ar36-assault-rifle If it’s going to actually be your gun, and a trusty backup that performs superbly the TM G36c Recoil is stonking, rock solid, nice controls and usual TM performance.

They are very similar. The K2 is a little narrower up top and very slightly more vertical angle. And obv made of double hard material for real usage. The PTS is very good as a replica/training part.

I’m not sure on the shipping, I’m sure there are carriers, just have to do some homework. I’m the same, I’ve never tapped a GBB. I can see the appeal but just not for me. Cutting the junk at home is very liberating! Ive been doing it ruthlessly at home with all sorts and even at work! 😂 The G&G pro or ICS guns are great, can be had cheap 2nd hand, TBH if you’re patient you could pick up a used TM M4 recoil pretty cheap too. One mans cheap isn’t the same as another’s though, and the old no frills JGs soldier on for peanuts!
