Hey kinda new to this thread I found it and has been using it as a guide to build my own MWS DMR build figured I finally drop by and say hello and thanks for all the information about this platform, I really enjoyed working on it and having fun using it at my local field.

Solid build mate, good job! May I ask you the stock though, looks perfect for a DMR! I'm building my DMR nowadays and I suppose you used the Recce kit for the handguard, if I'm not mistaken.

    Hey guys,

I am long time enjoyer of this thread but this my first post - and guess why: I ran into problems with some new parts I installed yesterday.

    My configuration:

    - TM MTR16 (2019)

    - TNT 370 mm inner

    - PH+ complete Hop Up Unit

    - G&P forged Sai bolt carrier (drop in)

    - ProWin Evo 50rds mags

My problem is that after installing the bolt carrier it seems to scratch the ProWin mags so that it is not reliably closing fully and that leads to malfunction (mostly spitting out the gas at once after some tries).

My guess is the ProWin mags have a taller gas outlet on top.

The orignal 20 rds TM mags are running just fine. Can anyone help / maybe has the same configuration and can tell me where to grind off some material to make the ProWin mags work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers my fellow MWS/MTR lovers!

I’m using Airtac adapter for Odin Sidewinder with OEM mags, do those non-OEM mags with the adapter though?

Mag science is absolutely ridiculous in MWS-land, pmags look gorgeous but aren’t they barely usable? I wonder if there is any one who uses them day-to-day.

Just brought a MWS (my first GBBR), on the hunt for a sling plate and decent sling for it now.  Great thread here, I've read a chunk of it 🙂

I'd recommend Warrior QRS Fastex Sling from Warrior Assault Systems, it's a solid but simple sling. With a decent plate carrier, I'm using the laser cut one from WAS again, it won't go wrong.

Real steel stuff rulez, and the money is not really biggie I reckon.

  4. Gonna buy a used TM MWS from the classifieds, not sure the right topic but might be good to ask the experienced ones here. I'm gonna buy the bundle with PayPal Buyer's Protection, should I be worried about any sort of scamming? Is it enough to do a good trade?

NGRS Mk18 was early 2019, MWS Mk18 was late 2020. But as you say, whether there is anything to be gleamed from that is unlikely.

As Dave says, the bulk of the look is the rail. If you’re after the shorter variant the 9.3” from/by HAO is the one folks will likely recommend (myself included), just be sure to select the MWS barrel nut to make your life as easy as possible. Starting with the CQBR as your build base gives you the barrel length you’re shooting for.

After that it’s just completing the look with a replica SF four prong muzzle device, and then throwing whatever ‘tactical gubbins’ you want on the rail.

I was looking at those handguards, it’s literally out of stock everywhere, or simply I’m not able to Google it somehow.

9.3” and FDE colour is what I need.

About the barrel nut, do you use an adapter to fit the thing to the MWS or is it just machined right to fit to the MWS? Is there a common name for MWS barrel nut?

Bit late with this post but nonetheless. First time at Ambush Airsoft (Surrey) last weekend, not sure why I haven't been there sooner! I absolutely loved it compared to my other site, much better game modes and map areas. They were actively digging trenches on Sunday with diggers and understand they are always adding new components to the field. Apart from the 3 games I've played this year elsewhere, I haven't been airsofting for over 10 years. I went alone 😢 but honestly had the best time, met some great people including the staff who were very helpful. Can't wait to go back and have already decided to go for the anniversary game this weekend.

    @werkzeug

@The Waco Kid There's a newbie perspective for you, so much more I could say so hit me up if you want any other info!

I’ve played couple of games there, since I’m running a GBBR now, I can’t really do full auto, and people going auto from far distances disabled me from the game mostly. I’ll do CQBR for a while, at least before getting set up with a secondary.

It’s a good place overall, I’m gonna probably do another game in there this month.

Apparently places are expecting stock around the end of July on mags, but I imagine they're going to get snatched up super fast and may sell out immediately with some sites taking pre-orders on them. My friend has 4 mags total, but he's buying another 5 as soon as he can and can carry that many mags in his Russian kit. I will get 7 myself if I can afford it (3 rig, 2 belt, 2 leg rig, 1 in gun), though I'm happy to settle on my MWS as I only really use my AK for Vietnam games or events where I can't use my gucci kit.

This is an example of the only two people I know who have the AKM, so I assume that there are a lot of other people in exactly the same situation as us. Those mags are going to disappear so quickly... 😢

Would you recommend buying a GHK AKM or WE AK instead? I'll be upgrading the internals and the furniture. WE having full bolt movement is a good bonus though.

  8. I was thinking about buying an AKM next month, but I'm surprised the mags are basically out of stock in everywhere. GBBRs are not good at compatibility, how did you find the spare mags, or are you still waiting? Such a shame, looks like a great gun.

G&P make that exact stock specifically for the MWS platform.

Doesn't appear to be in stock in the UK, but Google 'G&P Viper PDW stock' and plenty of results will come up in and around Hong Kong, but then if you're willing to try and ship genuine firearm parts from the states (Something that most US companies WON'T do due to regulations, apart from Brownells as mentioned above), then it'll be much cheaper and easier to get one shipped in from MLE Mart or somewhere similar.

Also regarding Brownells, I've used them repeatedly in the past with no issues, however I ordered an Ergo grip from them almost 2 weeks ago, in stock and ready to ship from the states as they drop ship UK orders in, and its not even been shipped yet, last update was 'Viewed' and that was the day I placed the order. No response to emails either.

Hopefully that helps save you some cash and some of the headache.

    All the best.

I’m literally astounded by how replica production for every sort of thing in Airsoft has evolved over years. Picking a real steel stock without knowing whether it fits to the MWS platform, there is a replica version of it.

Insane guys, thanks for the help.

The majority of people I know are running it with either green gas or propane, Including myself. I've used both WE 2X premium high performance gas and Nuprol 1,0 with no problems at all. They performed pretty good in cold weather too. If you're concerned about longevity you could replace your stock buffer with a G&P Aluminium buffer for additional reinforcement but anything after that is not really essential in regard to the internals IMO. You might be interested in a sixG super nub which will help you lift bbs higher than .28s and improve your accuracy. Beyond that, there honestly isn't much you'll need to change about the internals; the externals on the other hand....

Oh and I recommend watching this guy's video's he'll teach you practically everything you need to know about the platform.

Thanks for your detailed reply. That guy is an absolutely gold mine, looks like I'm gonna spend a lot of my time watching his mods.

The buffer upgrade is definitely popular amongst users, I heard it multiple times today. I suppose I'll sleep on it for a while, let's get used to the baby first.

  11. Probably asked many times before, pardon me for asking it again.

I've bought my TM MWS today (yay), and considering using Nuprol 2.0 Green Gas with it. I encountered a couple of places where TM is strictly suggesting to use 134a (probably it's Nuprol 1.0 - never used it before). The gun will be stock initially, do you think I should do any upgrades at least in the near future to save the life of the gun? Better, do you have any green gas brand/product suggestions to use with it?

  12. Thanks for the answers!

    Welcome werkzeug 🖐

Have a look here for sites near you: UK Airsoft Map — PlayAirsoft

And then look for reviews of the sites to see if worth going.

We always recommend playing the 3 games to be UKARA registered because it also allows you to decide what kind of toy you'll want to get.

GBB is fine as long as its below fps limits same as AEGs

You'll need to check with site rules as they can vary but in general:

    Auto capable: 350fps

Single shot: (No auto switch) 450fps

    Bolt action: 500fps

    With 0.2g BB

That's a good point. Well done web site. Little question though, in order to run an airsoft site in UK, do you have to be UKARA registered? Or asking from the players side, are these airsoft sites found in the web site all UKARA registered?

  13. Just wanted to say hola to AFUK people, I'm looking for games near Woking, Surrey. I played with JG AEG's like 5-6 yrs ago in Turkey, left airsoft entirely because it was overwhelming to import the toys to my country. Luckily, it's not the case anymore.

I've spotted a place called Ambush Airsoft, probably it's good, I'm also planning to arrange a UKARA defence in the next months. Would be actually good to do some new friends and hobby in my new country.

Lastly, advice needed: Would you buy a two-tone or wait until UKARA registration? I've no issues with colouring and looks as long as it's done finely at all! Also, I tried to search for site rules but haven't seen anything regarding GBBR usage. It was strictly prohibited in Turkey, in the site I was playing, however it's not the same here as long as the stopping power remains below the limits.

    Cheers!
