  1. For anyone who wants to know the socket i used to make a custom Lemo PTT is a: LEMO EGG1B305CLL Device socket, B series 1B, 5-pin Bought from: Reichelt in Germany but they don't ship to UK post Brexit.
  2. The background noise is intentional, that's the pass through so you can hear your surroundings. Most sets have a slight hiss but not a hum. It helps to have a really good seal in your ear. To those asking, yes I have a few left but they are now make to order and will be a couple of weeks lead time.
  3. Needs a URL to the booking page. Google search for clipstone headstocks Airsoft bloodbath events doesn't bring you up.
  4. Still 5 left. I've stopped selling on eBay due to their fees. I'm going to sell the last ones off on here or private sales. When they're gone they're gone. Same as @The Jackal, my supply of new headsets has dried up.
  5. Made this prop a while ago for some private night games at the Stan. We call it the Big Orange Magic Box. Key switch to start the countdown timer. Big red E-stop to stop it. Flashing strobe to make it easier to home in on. When the timer runs out the klaxon sounds. Simples! Another team mate made it look good. Bits of an old VCR some parcel taped boxes and ofcourse an old Nokia!
  6. Yep, still got 9 left. Not been much demand with lockdown and all!
  7. Just want to share a positive experience. I just received an ASG (KJW) DP18 and 3 X ASG co2 magazines from airsoftworld.net When it all arrived, there were already CO2 bulbs in the mags, already pierced and still pressurized. The mags didn't look used at all. Looks like Airsoft world check their mags for leaks before sending! Thank you and well done! Prior to that, I've just had a faff with a different retailer, sending back 4 out of 4 WE co2 magazines because they all leaked and being told "all magazines leak". So, again, thanks Airsoft world. Good to see someone in Airsoft cares about quality control!
  8. 9 left. I'll post here when they run out. I'm only making to requests at the moment.
  9. If you really what to know why I ordered valves from Germany vs UK: I wanted these specifically on a recommendation. https://www.reichelt.com/gb/en/electronic-radiator-thermostat-pack-of-four-eht-classic-n-s4-p150502.html Electronic, programmable, not "smart" radiator stat heads that fit Drayton TRV4 valve bodies. I needed 12, so worth ordering from Germany. at £35 for 4 vs £15each on amazon. Sorry I missed this. Yes and no. My supply of Racal headsets has now dried up. I bought the last case of them I could find and my supplier doesn't expect to get any more. I have 10 unmodified headset left. If you want 1, PM me and I'll build it up with your cable of choice, to order. There's plenty of cable length with the curly cables to get any where sensible. Belt is fine, but no you can't tie your radio to your ankle!
  10. Tonight's evolution of the Racal saga...I ordered some radiator valves from Germany and as I got to checkout I realised, in my basket was the special lemo socket for the racals. Spookily I'd found them on that site weeks ago and decided the combined price with shipping from Germany was too much. But not when you're already ordering other stuff! So, a bit of CAD and 3d printing for an adaptor and presto. I've got a custom u94 PTT with a lemo socket!
  11. BTW the most durable Comms set IV had so far is a ztactical bowman. I took off the elastic and zip tied it to the ear mesh of my fabric / mesh face mask to reduce clutter on my head. Works a dream and is always my fallback. (But no hearing protection)
  12. Had a few people asking about Earmor / Realsteel NATO wired versions... So I made one... Makes sense, I guess if you're interested in this you probably tried an Earmor and still have the PTT!
  13. They're surprisingly good and ideal for normal skirmish days. We chose them as the standard team radio for cost and simplicity. Most people aren't radio nerds, so a simple channel knob and volume knob makes it straight forwards. I guess that's why the military PRR radios are similarly simple.
  14. I actually did this mostly for rendundency, field repairability and dual Comms. But yes aux in, out, shake it all about. Even while breaching. 😉 Longer explanation. Here.
  15. I've been mulling this over and realised a previous solution I came up with to get away from broken down leads would also solve my dual PTT conundrum... So seeing as my downlead needed fixing anyway, I just did it.... I put a 4pole 3.5mm jack socket on my headset and one on my PTT so theres a secondary down cable between headset and PTT that can be quickly replaced and cheaply bought. I left on (and repaired) the original tp120 down lead too. Now I have a headset with 2 down leads. Which can be used to: 1:Provide rendundency incase a cable breaks. 2: Plug into 2 different PTT switches. 3: I can inject in music at the headset or PTT. 4: I can extract sound for videos or whatever else at the headset or PTT. 5: I can use regular phone earphones with the ptt for Comms.
  16. Yep that's the idea. Shopping list below. 2x Cables, 1x socket, 1xclip from the u94 PTTs 2x 12mm waterproof momentary push to make buttons. That style because that's what the real steel ones use and I'm hoping they'll give a decent tactile feel. Undecided if I 3d print a housing like the code red nx dual PTT or use an off the shelf project box.
  17. I put some heat shrink on the spigot to extend it, then test fitted in my ear to make sure it wasn't too long. I then rolled a slug of hot polymorph, wound it around the spigot, avoiding the hole on the end and seated the whole thing in my ear. Once hardened, remove it and trim the excess heat shrink off. I also tried proguard which is a 2 pack rubber for making earplugs. It moulded well, but didn't stick very well to the body of the Racal. You can wrap it around the body a bit to make it mechanically hold on. Not sticking could be a plus if you think you want to remove it. I think the foam plugs and proguard give a better noise seal, but the polymorph is cheaper to repeat so long as you pull it off before it fully hardens.
  18. Does anyone know of any repro dual PTTs that have 1x TP120 socket for a normal headset, has 2x PTT buttons and has 2x kenwood leads to 2 separate radios? I've found the code red NX Dual PTT and Dyplex Invictus, but they're all real steel kit with a price tag to match. I've only ever done 1 milsim in 2 years, so i'm not exactly getting bang for my buck! https://www.dyplex.com/products/tactical-headsets/invictus-dual-comm-ptt https://www.coderedheadsets.com/NX-Dual-PTT-p/nx-dual-ptt.htm My £10 repro PTT is the only bit of comms kit Ive had that has worked flawlessly for 2 years. So I cant justify £140 or so for a RS PTT. All said and done, its 2 switches. I'm half way to thinking about building a custom one, I put the parts in my ebay shopping basket earlier! MMmmm Photo bodge....
  19. @clumpyedge Indeed they do. (For anyone else who wants to know) JCI make a custom PTT called a tthg (Tim the heresy group) mod. Tim talks about it on his comms video on YT. With that, you plug in an unmodified Racal headset. I chose not to go that modified PTT route for a couple reasons. 1: The cost of the 5pin lemo female connectors is crackers. 2: I like to be able to plug my other headsets (or other people's headsets) into the same PTT for ease.
  20. Modded this last night for my bro as its performance had dropped off over 2 years and he got a new primary. So what to do with his old CYMA? DMR of course! Cyma cm.619 Fatboy New Piston head orings (turned out performance drop off was due to ineffective piston seals), madbull steel bull 363mm barrel, maple leaf decepticons yellow bucking, asg m125 spring, acog (might change for a 3-9x40 scope), bipod on the way. Trimmed selector plate to lock it to semi. 8.4v nimh no MOSFET. Hop is mostly off in the chrono test on 0.20g. Going to set the hop on a less windy day for heavier bbs and see if the spring needs tweaking or drop in the old barrel to counter any joule creep. Then going to field it and decide if it wants a MOSFET and 11.1v lipo.
  21. Also @ziCk_ I get you. I started with a mesh and fabric lower face mask with ear protection, works well with in ear headsets. Previously I had a bowman zip tied straight on the ear mesh which worked well but didn't offer hearing protection. But the mesh mask didn't work well with over the ear headsets. So I got a DM snood with mouth mesh. Thoroughly recommend them for use with cans. Anyway I'm considering making a DM but with ear mesh as well as teeth mesh.... Next project.
  22. Audio sample attached, talking and whispering. (Yes I was in the garden, not behind the camera). To answer the feedback / screech question: Scenario 1 Racals transmitting, ambient mics ON, receiving radio on speaker. Yes you get feedback from 3-6ft ish (volume dependent) Scenario 2 Racals transmitting, ambient mics OFF, receiving radio on speaker. Yes you get feedback from 6inches ish. (Volume dependent) Scenario 3 Racals transmitting, ambient mics ON, receiving radio on headset. No feedback. Even when in contact. Scenario 4 Racals transmitting, ambient mics OFF, receiving radio on headset. No feedback. Even when in contact PXL_20201102_215628578.mp4 And as if to illustrate my point, the cable on one of my wosport headsets just died for the second time. The tests were done with a working wosport headset on the receiving end.
  23. I'll drop you a PM ( I dont want to upset the mods with sales in the wrong place on my first post!)
