The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Jaylordofwaargh replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
My thoughts at Red1 for hit taking: 'did that get through the under growth?... Maybe not, I'll send two this time' Distent shout of 'hit!' Me: Uh must have hit a leaf/twig/Nat's wing -
Wrong side of the river! Although I am going to make Red1 my semi regular site...... Getting to driver wood is very much 'take advantage of the camping' kinda shooting day.

Exactly this, and part of what made my day yesterday. Head counts are one thing but if all rentals seem to be one same team..... Same as for the 'teams' and groups that rock up together. Also if rentals have other rentals to shoot at ... -

Spent the day at Red1 Cheselhurst today. First time out this year. What a great start for the year. Looks like the chill and clouds and small drizzle kept the hoards away only about 40 of us. Excellent numbers for this site. There was a large group of rentals, about 10 or so, marshals from the off went over and told them they were being split so they could shoot each other. Another excellent piece of marshaling in my opinion as it gave balance to the smaller teams. Hit taking great (over all - there were comments from the rentals that the rentals were not taking all hits) overall. Red1 have a shinny piece of kit - a bomb set up with multi function. They used this on a number of games which worked well. Only gripe about the site and how the day was was run was that the game briefs were lacking in some detail, with marshal distracted having to stop himself to stop other people talking during them. Mentioned this to the head (I think) marshal and he was already thinking ahead on how to fix the issue for next time round. Airsofters, being airsofters they were not the quickest getting out of the safezone for games despite the Red1 staff being vocal and trying to conjoule the players out quickly It might be 90mins by public transport but so far it has 2/2 good shooting days -
Doesn't matter where the bang was, it's a grenade, it has a kill radius. Killed with lit grenade in hand, I agree, should be dropped and let that be a story you tell. Much cooler than 'i got killed with a lit grenade in hand but threw it any way....'

If Lego, yes. Off the shelf, still in production and 'readily' available, not so much. Boxes are useful though if you don't have the multi gun case for game day purchases. -
What do you consider a fair price for a skirmish
Jaylordofwaargh replied to wicksy101's topic in General Discussion
This is good value even as you state it, willing to pay, again, for an experience that was a fair wack of cash! @Groot I recognise that cs price structure, still too soon, but I have heard rumours.... As to what I pay, well I accept that £25/£30 is fair for a days running around. I think it would have to hit £40 walk-on for me to begin questioning those fees - but then I get to go only every quarter or so -

Always thought the vorsk pistols were raven/we OEM just with shiny bits and or quality control that sits between raven and WE... But even at these prices I still think I would go for an AA (but am actually saving for something else) -

If we are at the point where we have a scammer every week or even multiple, the 2nd market is in a bit of trouble isn't it? Was that on the twitter -

What is reasonable wear and tear for an airsoft RIF?
Jaylordofwaargh replied to AirSniper's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Wait, so I should be thankful my aeg is still good after 10-12 heavy outings without shitting itself? Damn -
I think you are correct on soft touch, given they have previous convictions and the shiny black tape on the grip. One must ask why it was in the car readily at hand if not to pull this bullshit. This kind of incident is where a national governing body could pull its weight and issue a national ban and resind any defence the defendant was holding....
-
So they can low ball beyond reasonable then sulk when you say no? Meh

Could always ask if your local site want to run one....as mentioned, sites will often let sales happen, but a car full ....

It was fun to watch him build it ? the instructions are not Lego quality..... Couple of weeks, there were a couple of moments when it dropped of the radar but one of the alt brick FB groups were really helpful. I picked up a 1911 for my younger brother, and will definitely be getting a couple of these sets... At least this hobby won't cost as much as Lego.....

Everyday items that are good for airsoft
Jaylordofwaargh replied to strykerles's topic in General Discussion
I got all, except this reference -
Calling them like it is. The sim i did i took small bandages that were like 21p in bulk, bought some medic scissors, went the whole nine yards. The 'medics' team were using bandanas that they were barely wrapping before tapping chest to say you are back in. So yeah, check and ask.

Camouflage Bournemouth

Yeah, still feel this, and i dont even live local, What we did find though was Ambush (Botley), lots of former CS players show up every now and then. Do let us know if you do make it to Camo as it is (just) in range for a skirmish day
