Just incase any of you lot are interested; the Warmag speed loaders for the MWS are back in stock here:

    https://www.softairgames.net/en/bb-loader/16437-hurricane-speed-loader-for-series-marui-mws-gbb-warmag-wm-hurricane-9.html?search_query=hurricane&results=17

    I've just ordered one.

I've had one for a bit. Skirmished 2 or 3 days with it and coming from hi caps I reload a lot. Its held out so far and it's night and day vs the plunger style

Is the arm the same size as a TM Glock one? Loads of companies make aftermarket ones

    https://www.rainbow8.com/collections/glock-series/products/dp-ss-304-hop-up-adjustment-arms-for-marui-we-vfc-gbb-pistol

It's slightly different. Didn't think about it needing to be a harder material.

Because of it making it thicker with the key it pulls down towards the back of the barrel so I might need to make it into a T instead of an I

I did some testing today with propane and it emptied 2 mags on a single fill no problems. Try guarder powerup gas if you’re really struggling.

On a side note, TNT buckings are very good.

I'll give it a go. Was fine with slightly warmer weather. Need to play with the hopup unit as it was curving left badly again. I suspect the I key shifted positions. The one sided tension arm isn't the best design. Can't find an aftermarket hop unit for it either

Yep, you’ll need to modify the plate to fit an HPA tap through it, or drill and tap the side of the mag.

Alterantively, I’ll build you an AW ZET system mag that you can run on HPA and will give you 350 ish rounds ?

Haha it's looking like the way forward ? at least I can sell some mags after to recoup some of the money this guns swallowing. Do you reckon running 3.0 will solve my issue for the moment?

  5. Tried running nuprol 2.0 today and gun wouldn't cycle because it kept freezing up, rookie didn't take any other gas with me. Has anyone hpa tapped the mags and how? Asking because the plate at the bottom that holds the spring has a small hole where the fill valve is and don't know if it'll need modifying

Well today hasn't gone as planned so I didn't get to change the bucking and install the nub although I have watched a few vids and it looks easy enough.

Couple of questions if I may O'GURUs of MWS Land:

With the stock nub & bucking what kind of weight BBs would you recommend? (I have most weights)

And what speedloader adaptors are you fellas using? Does it take the usual GBBR one that fits WE & GHK? (Not digging the wand!)

    – I know I should try it but as I can't shoot it today either I figured I'd just ask for when I get the chance ?

    Cheers fellas

I use the mws warmag from softair website. Pretty pricey but has worked so much better than the normal speed loaders.

Fitted the I key and tnt bucking to the type 89 today. With some bending,  filing and a touch of super glue it's shooting about 65 metres on .32s consistently. Its the furthest I can test it so we'll see how it tests next weekend. Thanks for the suggestion

Anyway you like, I’m not worried. Send me the bits or I’ll supply, doesn’t matter to me, whatever is best for you??

If you were to supply it all and just send finished product what would you be looking at charging?

OK, this has been on my mind all day whilst modding the mags. Would it be a case of me supplying the parts and you combining them or would you be happy to give me a price for a "job done here you go enjoy" sale? Feel free to PM me!

I feel I need this and whilst the chance is there I'd be daft to miss out. ?

I'm also curious about this because let's be honest it's gonna happen anyway so why delay the inevitable

    Awesome.

Now all I need is him to reply to my emails then.

He's not the best at keeping you updated but I ordered a couple weeks ago and it came within a couple days.

Fellas, which gas valve tool is the right one for the MWS mags?

I need to order one as I don't think the one I have will work with these.

I would like to do the green gas mod to my mags....

I'm unsure. I do know that the we one definitely isn't right. The teeth are too thick. I filed mine down slightly and it worked

  10. 1 hour ago, Wo1f said:

I’d definitely give those a go

Going to order the maple leaf as well just so I can compare the two. There's so many choices, decepticon, autobot, super, monster. Which one should I get and what degree? 60?

  11. 51 minutes ago, rocketdogbert said:

I’d be inclined to use a Mapleleaf I-key designed for pistols, looks like it will fit??

    31 minutes ago, Wo1f said:

Yeah. That looks like a pistol/ WE m14 design. A maple leaf I key and a maple leaf / TNT TR hop rubber should work really well in that

Ok so these? Does the I key fit under the tensioner? Because you turn the dials on the side and it's pulls that arm down. Its easily over hopping .32s

  12. So if anyone who has type 89 the super nub doesn't fit as it has no nub ?

Is there a solution to this?

I'll try it with the tan bucking as the gun is already in bits and see if this will improve at all

My quest to fit the AW 300 round drum mag to the MTR took a different tack tonight.

I could not get the TM mag insert (at the top) to reliably be gas tight in the AW adapter. So, I took the plunge, and cut an MTR mag in half.....

...along with cutting the top top off the AW adapter, and machined the two to fit together...

This will ensure a gas tight seal once they are permanently bonded and screwed ?

Bold move I like it. How will you bond it?

I spent a few hours this weekend on the AW drum mag.

The adapter needs a reasonable amount of work to fit in the TM magwell. Careful measurement is required as you need to take material from both the front and the back of the adapter, and reprofile the rear corners.

And remove some material so the bolt stop doesn’t jam.

The AW Mag top (valve, router and feedlips) is a no go though. I spent a few hours on that as well, feed lips can be modified, and the body of the top of the adapter as well. The TM bolt will then feed bb’s well BUT I stopped there. The gas router is in the wrong place and cannot be modified to fit. The valve sits too high but could probably be modified.

Hmm that is a real pity. If I do the mods to hop up hopefully it'll change my need for more ammo for now.

Can't wait for AW forever so hopefully get an update in the near future

I’ve been looking at those speed loaders. Did you get from soft air? Can you take a video of it in use and post? Thanks!

Terrible video and doesn't look so smooth haha but from struggling and nearly breaking my thumb everytime I loaded to this is a vast improvement

I spent yesterday evening looking at all the options. I think the best is to EITHER get a new adaptor 3D printed to accept the MWS mag top OR do some machining on the AW adaptor to fit the MWS mag top to it.

The adapter acts as a further gas reservoir to the drum, so it’s not an easy thing to convert it, it has to be gas tight.

Right I understand. I'll get in touch with AW and see how long before we see a true mws fit from them

  17. 8 minutes ago, rocketdogbert said:

Nope. You should try the MTR, it’s 20 rounds lol.

    The PMAG takes maybe 39

Im actually going to get the AW converted to fit the MWS, but it’s not a simple job, practically everything is a different size, gas router and feed lips are in the wrong position, top valve is in the wrong place, adapter body is too large to fit in the MWS mag well.

Other than that, perfect fit lol

How will you convert it? Please keep me updated on this and if you find a solution I'll be your best friend for life haha

Yeah that's it soft air. I'll get a vid sorted tomorrow of me loading. It takes literally a couple seconds. It's not the most rugged bit of kit so only time will tell.

  18. 1 minute ago, rocketdogbert said:

    Nope, not even nearly.

Gutted. Was going to order one tomorrow. Is there another alternative? Or even a mid cap? Struggling with the 30 rounds mag at 42 quid a pop

  19. Hey guys new here. I have a type 89 not the m4 but I'm pretty sure they're the same internals. Very little info or help with mods on the 89. Great advice so far and gonna invest in the nub and and modify bucking but not a barrel as it was shooting 345- 348 fps last weekend on nuprol green. For those of you struggling with loading your mags I've found a loader which arrived today.

I was sceptical at first but wow they go in like butter. Only loaded 3 mags so not sure on how long it'll last but will use it on a skirmish day and see how it holds up.

It's called a hurricane storm loader by warmag and I got it off a place in Italy.

So if I understand with changing the nub and bucking at 345 fps on 0.2, I should be able to hop 0.36's and get like 70m range?

Here’s a tip. The AW Mag is nowhere near a fit for the MWS.

I didn’t expect it to be, I bought it to modify for my vector, but just letting you know, it definitely isn’t.

I may modify it for the MWS though ?

Hang on this drum mag you're saying won't fit the mws?
