  1. Mostly I want a sidearm that is reliable, accurate and doesn't eat the world's supply of gas to function. Secondary objective is a project I can mess about with dropping new parts into and complete basic mods to improve how it functions. Little sad, maybe, but I'd find it fun. I'd be glad not to waste money though so since a bbu is gonna be a battle and doesn't sound worth it then I'm gonna skip it and stick with the stuff I already have. Maybe a swanky slide in the future Cheers for the input and advice, you guys have given me some good stuff to look at and solid advice on what not to bother with.
  2. My thinking was a lighter bbu lightens the slide weight overall and so increases gas efficiency. Is it essentially an insignificant gain without pairing it up with a lighter slide? Shimmed gas routers I hadn't heard of (first time messing with GBBP components) so I'll give them a read too for something else to play about with. Do you have any tips as to how to go about shimming them? Cheers for the advice so far, probably saved me a headache or two.
  3. I was trying to find an answer to whether the cowcow would fit and I think you might have just given it. That's a shame since now I'm back to square one for a bbu since I was told my backup idea (guarder lightweight) fits loosely in WE slide. Do you know if any others that are worth looking into? I was hoping to use one for an improvement to gas efficiency.
  4. I picked up a maple leaf hop unit, autobot 60 bucking, maple leaf steel barrel, a bearing hammer wheel, a barrel stabiliser (this and a file to try and beat the slide sticking issue before it starts) and a guarder spring guide (mostly for ease of adding rubber washers for buffers). Later I was thinking a piston head with an o-ring (still reading into this) and I was debating a cowcow blowback unit at some point but can't find a definitive answer as to whether it'll fit in a standard WE G17 slide. The overall aim was to get a reliable, accurate, efficient and hopefully durable Glock sidearm, within a reasonable budget, and these were the parts I read were hopefully able to make it.
  5. Hullo, sorry if this has been covered already but I did a search beforehand and couldn't find much on it... Are there any differences between the WE G17 and the EU17 aside from the reduced markings on the slide? I bought what I thought was a standard Gen 3 WE G17 but then it's arrived as a WE Nuprol EU17 and I dunno if the aftermarket internal parts I've already got are going to be suitable. I'd try them and see but that'd void the warranty and knacker any plans to return it. I'd be grateful for any advice if anyone has any exlerice with these.
