  1. I'm not sure this is a discussion:

    A: "I think X is true"

    B: "it's not try again"

    A: "I think X1 is true"

    C: "it's not try again"

    A: "I think X2 is true"

    D:"it's not try again"

    A: "I think X3 is true"

    :)

    bollocks any law can be challenged even the simplest, and if you did study law you very often would analyse cases like the famous Donoghue v Stevenson, when suddenly you realize there is a flaw, I still don't have a clue what is and isn't a defense for me to manufacture RIF do I go on skirmishes once or every week ? You are not allowed to make RIF from IF, my green paint just came off, what do I do. Selling is crime but owning is fine... my dealer will not be happy about it. I'm more than happy to sit here quiet and wait for something horrible to happen (getting shot in the eye case, I suspect by a teenager) following by debate to ban airsoft since kids can own one, and if serious accident will happen it will be too late to change law then.

  2. I was surprises about some of the cases, I remember there was one about pregnant woman who saw motorbike crash and had miscarriage, then she sued dead motorcyclist for damages under duty of care and she won.

    So can I sell my £200 mag with a free RIF gift ? :P

  3. So if I had two tone but paint came off, is this manufacturing ? Or absolutely legal. And you can't sell to under 18, but gift is fine.

    Mack: but it's illegal for them to sell me one so how can I buy one :P If its illegal to sell cigarets is it legal to buy them? No!

    This law have more holes then me after attending skirmish with Mack

    And its good they included people who would own RIF before new law, but they should just add exception or circumstances, this would hopefully prevent so many loopholes and confusion.

  4. You are right about customs, but then you can have long debate about seizure of legal and illegal knifes by customs

    And from the link,

    1.The defence for airsoft skirmishing can apply to individual players because their purchase of realistic imitation firearms for this purpose is considered part of the holding of a skirmishing event.

    What if I hold UKARA have RIF but don't participate in the events, When defence stop or start being defence?

  5. UKARA is not form of defence, they established them self as a defence but according to VCRA its about regular use not about being registered with UKARA, just because your gun was purchased through UKARA shop it doesn't mean that your defence cannot be challenged in court :P I did touch law when I was in uni and this would be a perfect scenario for debate

  6.

    Its not illegal to own one :huh:

    Without defence it is illegal, and here is the problem, I understand having museum, films and theater on the list, you have a justified reason that can be proven with document etc. When VCRA was introduced Airsoft skirmishes were not included on the list,this was later added by secretary of state. There should be separate section for Use of RIF for skirmishes. I know UKARA was adapted by shops as a valid defence, but there is nothing about UKARA in the VCRA so in theory you can visit shop with the letter from your local insured site saying you attend skirmishes regularly and therefore you have defence to buy RIF.

    Gifting of RIF should be made illegal as well, If its ok to gift then I can open a shop and sell magazine for £200 with a free gift of RIF

  7. From 1 October 2007, section 36 Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 created an offence to manufacture, bring into or cause to be brought into Great Britain, or sell realistic imitation firearms. It also made it an offence to modify an imitation firearm to make it realistic.

    Section 37 relates to specific defences: this allows persons in the course of trade or business to import realistic imitation firearms for the purpose of modifying them to make them non-realistic. It also provides various defences if the realistic imitation firearm was available for:

    a museum or gallery;

    theatrical performances and rehearsals of such performances;

    the production of films and television programmes;

    the organisation and holding of historical re-enactments; or

    crown servants.

    and I was talking about owning not buying.

  8.

    Wrong - fixed it for you. Read the FAQ.

    This complicate things even more,

    As part of the VCRA, Airsoft skirmishers were given a ‘Defence from prosecution’, which effectively allows you to buy RIFs, if you can prove you are a regular skirmisher and use them for such at an approved site.

    One of the main points to the defence is that must be a regular skirmisher at an ‘Approved Skirmish site’. This is defined as somewhere which holds public liability insurance for these events. To access this defense you must be a regular player at such a site, in order for them to vouch for you.

    They need to define "regular" so someone hold UKARA and didn't attend any skirmishes for the past 11 months so he poses RIF illegally since he did not attend any activity which would grand him defence from prosecution.

    Scenario 2 You visit site regular pay in cash and there is no record no witness that you have attended any of them, therefore you poses RIF illegally if you unable to prove otherwise.

  9. You are not allowed to own RIF except for having a defense such us filming movies etc or by UKARA. I would not risk painting my gun without having UKARA even if you only use it for Skirmishes, how can it be established that you have defense without proof, one for example being UKARA. The whole law around RIF is poorly written and should be revised.

  10. I got new (used) Aimtop body to replace my cm16 green polymer one, once swapped I noticed my G&G high capacity mag won't even go in magwell, it get stuck like the mag is too wide by 1-2mm. I have contacted seller and he previously used G&G mags with this receiver, will test G&P one today, anyone had similar issue? I noticed on different forum thath someone was selling few mags and on pic G&G one looked slightly wider.

  11.

    Why not have an airsoft license, similar to a driving one. All held on a national database, and the license can be revoked. Must be over 18 to hold one, and no purchase of RIF allowed without it. Players will have to sit a theory test on VCRA, UKARA, safe handling, correct terminology, battery storage, etc. And a practical exam to demonstate proper use of eye-pro, magazine and battery changes, safety procedure before entering the Safe Zone, etc. Their Airsoft license can be checked at sites to make sure the player is legal to carry a RIF.

    And a provisional license for under 18s, to make sure they are responsible enough to be allowed to use a two-tone gun.

    Could also introduce gun registration numbers. Every gun has a unique index number, held on a national database, and when you sell a gun you complete the details of old owner and new owner and send them off to the Airsoft Licensing Agency (could be located in Swansea for example). This would also mean stolen or lost guns could be traced back to the owner.

    Note: Yes, it is April 1st. And this is not a serious post.

    Already looking forward to do Hazard perception exam on Airsoft :D
  12. Yes the point is for the gun not to look real I think tape would achieve thath and it's linked to VCRA but if you compare crime involving RIF and the one with knife, yet you can easily buy knife when 18. You need to renew UKARA every year, I was playing nice with my RIF for one year but then I might decide to rob a bank? Well no need to renew, I already have RIF for the bank job

  13. Well just thin colorful tape or metal wire wrapped in plastic around gun thath you can take off after 3rd game, something like they have at the back of trucks so they know no one have opened the trailer, problem is to stop people cutting them early but same can be said about two tone it can be painted black or components replaced, I noticed 1 shop is doing veneer wrapping

  14. I thing the whole UKARA and two tone could be implemented slightly better, law is poorly written and instead of putting permanent change to gun put a colorful tag on gun with a marking and serial number thath you need to keep for 3 games, after 3rd game it can be removed, and if you do it early you break the law and you can't apply for UKARA for 1 year, easier for players and for shops, they wouldn't have to paint guns.

    Two tone guns make it easier for people to get into the sport

    What? So if you didn't have to go through two tone and UKARA it would be harder for people to get in the sport? Thath makes no sense
