  1. Hey, Im new to airsoft and what its all about are there any Airsoft veterans that can help me out in gaining a sniper loadout and general tips and pointers on buying?

      if you have £600 and hours of free time to research upgrades and how to do them go for it.

       

      To get a real advantage over AEG's you have to put a lot of work into the rifle.

       

      I have gone down the route, believe me turning up with a "sniper" and not being able to hit anyone gets old quick. IMO being on the front line in the action is much more fun. By running a bolt action youre purposely putting your self at a disadvantage, people that do run bolt actions...

      mainly do it because they prefer them, which is fair enough. the FPS advantage does help with range because you can use .40>bb's which will fly further (accurately) then 350fps AEG's however. youre limited to 1 shot, if you miss the guy with the AEG will pelt you with 10 bb's in a couple of seconds

      Basically sniper rifles will perform well but the problem with em is range / accuracy is not any better than your ordinary AEG so obviously you are severely limited by mag capacity and are at a disadvantage in terms of rate of fire as well. The only real upside with a spring BASR is at least you're not relying on gas or batteries.
