Steelseries Arctis Pro + GameDac. Awesome headset and it also comes in a bluetooth version, if you need it to be wireless.

Is that an LVPO scope?
-
Yeah, I am leaning towards real steal. If I didn't care about budget then this post would be irrelevant. I could out of hand with the spending if I don't keep myself in check😂. Thought about using the Holy Warrior magnifier and the Vortex Red Dot to keep cost (somewhat) down. I did think of that but I do find myself tilting my rifle °30-ish quiet often as I maneuver around objects, etc. Close quarters is fine but at longer distances, yeah... the BBs tend to veer off. Interesting...🤔

So, in the market for a new sight. My old 552 replica is pants, plus it took a BB to the face last night. I really like the Vortex Crosshair red dot, as well as the Holy Warrior S1... more so the Vorex for obvious reasons. However, i was thinking of running a scope plus canted reflex sight... something like in the attached picture. Now I would love to get Vortex everything but I don't want to spend a tonne of money. Are the Aim-O type ACOG + RMR sights decent? Or any of the ACOG replicas for that matter? Also, Reflex sights, are any of the Strike Systems type sights any good? I'd rather spend a little more if it means getting something that is actually fit for purpose but don't want to get silly. The vortex Reflex sights I've seen are pushing £300+. There's also the red dot + magnifier option for the Holy Warrior S1 and the Vortex Crosshair. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No, I think I'll be back at it for a good while now... gotta justify all the money I'm spending😝. I like my Bolle x1000 but they would be much better with a fan. I need a new lense though and Bolle have discontinued the spare, clear lenses. Having to look at the X800 etc now, or buy the yellow lense for £45! Will see whichever option is the more cost effective. I'm actually back at ZMart tonight😁. Thanks for that. My research has been unearthing the same point of view. I think a Hakko unit will be money better spent.👍

So to give an update on what I've done... 1. Bought an Odin M12. Much faster reload, even with TM M4 mags. The TM mags won't lock in so have to hold the mag in place while you crank it. 2. Bought three tracer units to test out, (all Acetech) Lighter BT, Predator X, and Bifrost BT. The Lighter BT I didn't like at all and seemed too fragile to run on a rifle. The Preadtor X is a full metal mock suppressor with an AT2000R. It was my favourite out of the bunch and was pretty much just as bright as the Bifrost BT, so will be keeping it. The Bifrost BT had way too much muzzle flash and is all plastic in the front. Would be better suited for a pistol or SMG I think. It was ever so slightly brighter than the AT2000R but not really noticeable. I do love the inbuilt Chrono feature so may keep it as well... we'll see. Both were brighter than my old TM tracer unit though. 3. Managed to get my 552 sight working but it is a crap unit. Looking at various units like the Vortex Crossfire red dot and the Holy Warrior S1. Will probably start another thread for that😂. 4. Probably going to get a Hakko or TS101 soldering iron soon. 5. Realised I had purchased a Dye i4 in the passed and returned it after trying it on. It really is for paintball as I remember not even being able to look down my rifle sights with it on. Will explore a diy fan option for my Bolle goggles or look at trying a Bloc Lynx. 6. Found nothing for the PX4. May look at other pistol options instead.

What brand BBs are best nowadays? Bang for buck.

So .32 wouldn't be too heavy for a 1 joule HK416 with a Promethus Purple rubber hop? -

Yes, I just found some at Airsoft Zone! Thanks for the additional info. Always got on well with the Blaster range, would like stick to them if I can... especially the Devils. Good to know they are still about. What made you go to .32? I use to do mostly indoor skirmishes at The Mall and my AEG is 325-330fps on .20's. That was the reason I ran .25's and .28's. Most of my internals were all upgraded a while back so I'm up for trying other weights. -

Are "Cursed" the new "Devils"? -
So, I used to run nothing but ASG Blaster Tracer .25 BBs for indoors, and ASG Blaster Devil .28 for outdoors. I still have a few bottles of the tracer rounds but only one bottle left of the Devil .28. I seemed to get on very well with these ASG rounds years ago, especially the Devils but I can't seem to find them in stock in .28 anywhere. Now, I've just gotten back into airsoft after a 5-6 year lay-off, is it that the ASG stuff isn't as popular anymore, or are there now better options? Any help in finding some quality .28 BBs that aren't silly money would be helpful. Also, what are the really good tracer rounds nowadays? TIA

Alright, what about Acetech Brighter R vs AT2000 R? Any noticeable difference (brightness) between the two? The AT2000 R is about £20 cheaper. Thinking of going down the mock suppressor route. It gives me the look I want to maintain, and hopefully the AT2000R or Brighter R will give me the performance I want with red and green BBs.
-
Thanks for that! In terms of build quality, is one able to take a wack better than the other? I was looking at the Brighter C as well. Looks like it will do well in an Angry Gun suppressor. Do you think that maybe a better option than the Xcortech... in terms of realism? Is the Brighter C on the same level as far as brightness?
-
Scoured the internet for comparisons but can't find any. From experience, has anyone been able to compare the Xcortech XT501 MK2 to the Acetech Bifrost? I don't care for rainbow colours or muzzle flash, I just want the best tracer unit I can buy. One that produces the brightest BBs and is long lasting. From my research, it seems these two units are deemed to be the brightest and best. I prefer the "realistic" look of the Xcortech but like the fact that the Acetech can light up red BBs as well. Any input anyone? TIA

Which model, the Lynx? Do you use the gasket with it as well? Not the biggest fan of regular ballistic eye glasses. Had a close call a while back, not a pleasant experience. I currently use the Bolle X1000 ballistic goggles with Revision wipes. I still get a load of condensation when camping, etc. When I'm on the move they are fine though. Someone suggested the Dye i5 to me but I'm not the biggest fan of paintball styled masks either. However, if it allows me to see!😂

So, I went on my first skirmish last night, in almost 6 years! Also, first time at Z-Mart. Had a really good time, a bit sore but glad I made the last minute decision to go. As I hadn't used my gear in a long time, things have broken and need replacing now. Just wanting some advice on replacement parts and things I would like to add to my load out. 1. My Marui XL BB Loader broke, should I replace it with the same part or is there a better one available? 2. My Marui Tracer Unit seems a bit dull compared to others that were being used on the night. Not sure if mine is on its way out or there are newer, better models available? 3. Need a new sight, my 552 replica has died, thinking of going for a Reflex sight. What are the current good, durable brands? Is Aim a good one? 4. Also, my soldering iron has died. It's an old Maplin one, any advice on a really good replacement that won't break the bank? 5. Dye i5 masks, are there any issues with fogging up? 6. Are there any tracer units available for my Marui PX4 pistol? My guns are: Marui HK416 rifle and Marui PX4 pistol. TIA

Who are the current Airsoft Wizards, nationwide?
Alex34 replied to Alex34's topic in Recommend a Tech
Nothing specific at the moment. Still haven't decided what next to buy or even if it will be AEG or GBBR. My current rifle has already been given the golden touch by KOA. I guess the turnaround shouldn't be such a big deal this time, as I'll have my current rifle to use while I wait. -
Who are the nation's top Airsoft techs... especially the ones that have courier service? I've used Sam Liggat at Kingdom of Airsoft years ago and was extremely happy with his work. The only downside was the turnaround time. This was about 8 years ago though and around Xmas time, so things could be very different now. I see loads on here tip Luke Dobson at Negative Airsoft, and I knew Luke from back in the days at The Mall. Never had the pleasure of having him work on any guns for me though. That will probably change very soon... if his turnaround isn't ridiculous. I've read there is normally a long waiting list. So who else is out there these days that has the golden touch, and who's QC is top notch? And if you are tipping KOA or Negative, chime in as well!
-
Yeah, The Mall was my main site before it closed, so I know about Newbury... just haven't been yet.
-
Valid points and it seems like a lot rests on the shoulders of the event holders. Knowing when and how to modify their games to adapt to a changing client base and tech. Speaking of changing tech... what's the MWS like overall? Is QC up to the usual Marui standards?
-
I'm repairing the mags anyway, bought some o-rings from Fire-Support so hopefully they fit well. I run 3 pistol mags but have 4 in total. It was a faff as it never really compared to the feeling and consistency of the TM 416. I've run red gas before, in fact it was all I ran in the end... still wasn't thrilled over the results though. Maybe I'm not being realistic about it but I'm looking for something more and not afraid to try a few things... or at least consider them. That JV Tactical Infinite system looks like a good option but they don't have one for the PX4... and it's a bit pricey when factoring in the rest of the hpa system.

Don't get me wrong guys, I absolutely love the fact that there are new and more mods available! We run around with fake guns, chasing each other, shooting plastic BBs for pete's sake... if anyone takes this hobby too seriously they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. It's all about enjoying yourself and having fun, and to do that you have to be able to respect the fact that everyone is different and will express themselves the way they choose. If it were up to me, every gun would operate as close to the real version as possible, just for the sheer kick of it, not because I'm a "realist". If there are any mods that will help me to achieve that, I'm all for it. I think it's brilliant that "tinkerers"are forming companies and inventing products so that we have options to enjoy ourselves a bit more. I think everyone should modify there guns in some way, whether that's internally or externally. Make it your own. I could care less whether I win every mission on skirmish day or lose all of them... as long as I have a blast, I'm happy. I'm strictly there to run around, shoot shit up and have fun😂. Milsims, I take a bit more seriously but only because of the structure of it. I love the side missions and splitting up into teams to accomplish them. Saying that though, I am no solider, nor do I want to pretend to be one. I'm strictly there to have a good time. Never go backwards mate! Give me all the new goodies! All the next gen recoil shock, gas blowback, mosfets, brushless, lipo goodies!🤣 it works better, trust me it does. Don't think so? Have a chat with someone who races RC cars. And with regards to HPA-ing my pistol... if there were a better system of running compressed air, I would try that instead. Yes, the attached cord is off putting but as it stood, I ran my AEG 95% of the time to 5% on the pistol... I just want to be able to enjoy running a pistol a bit more. Propane gas was always so meh. Gotta give hpa a try! It's either that or sell my PX4 and buy an MP5K HC😜.
-
Thanks for the reply. I don't think I would mind changing mags out with HPA. To me, filling green gas mags was always a faff and I didn't use my pistol enough because of it. My pistol spent more time in its holster than it did anywhere else so not bothered by it being tethered to me either. The plan is to use coil line so that it's not hanging off of me or getting in the way, or at least in theory it won't. Curious to know what put you off of trying the hpa route in the end?
-
So, I've been out of the Airsoft scene for about 5 or so years now. As I'm getting myself back into it, I'm noticing a change in retailers and especially mod techs. There seems to be loads more modifications available for everything, hpa systems, aeg electronics, all sorts of hop-up units etc. Is this the case or am I just losing it? I remember back when the BTC Spectre mosfet was the rage for AEG rifles, now there are like three or four other companies making AEG mosfets, some look to be even better quality than the BTC stuff. Is Airsoft advancing with technology and industry in the UK, for the better?

Hello all. I've been away from airsoft for a few years now but making a comeback! After going through all my gear, checking and cleaning up my guns (TM 416 Devgru AEG and TM PX4 blowback pistol), I realised my PX mags are toast. They are leaking through both valves and O-rings need replacing. After having a looksy online for O-rings and/or valve replacements, I came across TM valve taps for running an HPA system into the TM magazines. Started researching into this and from what I saw/read, it seems fairly straight forward. I've never run HPA before so I do have a few questions though... Is running HPA through TM pistol mags as straight forward as it seems? Fail safes: if my regulator fails and decides to dump all the air into the line, is there anything I can install to prevent my pistol exploding in my hand/holster? How many shots can I roughly get out of a 13ci tank, at site allowed pistol FPS rates? Is there anything I need to do to my TM pistol to prevent damage from running an HPA system? Do I literally only need a tank, a regulator and a hose for a full pistol system? What are the better brands and retailers to get HPA systems and parts from? Many thanks for any help offered!

Thanks for the suggestion. So I work mainly in the Didcot to Reading area of the Thames Valley. Stanstead isn't too far off though, will check it out. A little outdoor mixed in doesn't hurt. I just never really had a blast at "all outdoor" venues. The BBs tend to be more like spitballs whilst skirmishing out doors... and just forget about it if it's windy out. Whenever I did Longmoor I mainly stuck to the fibua villages and buildings. I run a TM 416 and a pistol... nothing else.
