Hello,

Trying to disassemble my GC16 Predator, I have the stock and hand guard off but I cant get the upper receiver to slide off. Both pins are punched out as seen in the pictures however it is not moving whatsoever. Anyone know why?

usually.....

pop pin closest to hop

receiver slides forward inch/25.4mm

then sticks.....

pull charging handle at back

slide receiver a bit more forward and lift slightly up at back

continue to slide off receiver

you will see a little lug on top of gearbox of most M4 gearboxes

I reckon that was impeding the receiver sliding off

(some v2 gearboxes like MP5's don't have this lug)

should not be a blowback model

next time please trim photo to not show your crotch if possible

close dust cover where hop is

I'd lay money the cover is open

(when cover open it hits the pin you pulled back)

Could be wrong but doesn’t the safety lever have to be halfway between safe and semi to remove this upper receiver?

This is what the other side looks like, just still not moving at all

Phew no crotch shot...

was this gun painted ???

coz the paint might have stuck a little bit

I think I can see some black scratches on gun hence me asking about paint job

if popped together when a bit wet, it could have stuck a bit

according to vid and most "normal" M4's it just slides off

EDIT - wasn't painted coz G&G writing reversed out in first etc...

Soz thought it was a generous 2-tone paint job

It is just stuck me thinks...

Paint does look quite 'artificial' in that pic but its the hunters green version of the gun so paint shouldn't affect it

It has had a custom GATE mosfet installed on it so I know the upper receiver has come off before, just not sure why I cant get it off :/

Have you tried swearing at it?

Then turning off and on ???

Sorry luv I'm just not in the mood and you have put on weight

then followed by

Hey baby, you are looking so fine and sexy tonight let me rub your.......

YEAH - that turning it off & on bit, with women the moment you turn them off they won't turn back on that easily

Them marks are probably not just battle worn

but also clout marks by tech who worked it previously

give it a light tap with soft rubber handle of screwdriver

or a tea towel on top, if no rubbery mallet around - give it a little clump...

SOFTLY - SO IT DON'T MARK DAMAGE STUFF

it has gotta go I would have thought - or did tech glue the bastid ???
