THE TM MWS thread

Anyone else tried the G&P L Mags (46rd ones)?

Seem to be getting some very hot shots for 1-2 BBs then settles down. 285, 276, 263, 260, 258….

My TM STANAG mags give 266fps +/- 2fps.

Leaving the mag for a couple of mins and trying again gives shots around 266 which is what I was expecting.

I am wondering if a 15sec fill is too much and not leaving enough gas to liquid volume. They don’t have the TM style fill valves that vent the air, so I guess they also lack a fill syphon to prevent over filling?

Extra rounds and snappy recoil is welcome I just want a more consistent performance.

Does anyone know where I can buy the internals of a magazine follower or a complete follower.

I bought a used mag that does not lock back on empty and when I checked the mag it was missing the bits in the follower.

UK would be best or overseas .

Have you tried Fire Support or Eagle Six? They often have mag followers and the parts for the linkage.

Ok, did some more testing and checked the fill and exit valves.

The fill valve is directly threaded into the back face of the magazine and there is no syphon tube so it is easy to completely fill the gas chamber with liquid propane (or near enough!) Meaning there is little gas available for firing a BB, and shots in quick succession lead to a drop in power due to it taking longer to replenish the gas pressure by boiling off the liquid propane.

8-10sec fill seems optimal.

The exit valves on one of the mags was a little sticky so I removed it, lubed with very light silicone oil, wiped the excess off, and refitted.

Much more consistent FPS and even gained 5FPS due to efficiency. I did the other mag and found it didn’t make much difference, but that one was always working better any way.

Hope this helps anyone else who gets the G&P MWS mags and finds some less than great performance.

I lost mine when cleaning the mag, I ended up using the spring from inside a pen & just cut it down 

but also had it when the mag wasn’t locking back on empty it wasn’t anything to do with the spring 

Try this it worked for me

Hopefully someone can help me.

I bought a used TM mws and the first 2 mags it worked fine, but after that it started spitting gas and the bolt would not fully travel back.

It seems that the nozzle arm doesn’t pick up the next bb. The next bb sits a bit forward between the feed lips. I tried it with other mags and a other bolt but still the same problem. I also tried to bend the nozzle arm back but it didn’t work. I tried some velcro in the back and front of the magwell, to fit the mag better but it also did not work.

I’m using stock nozzle and oem TM mags.

do you have any pics of the nozzle ? Might need a nozzle replacement 

 
This was it before making it straight again. I ordered a new one (guns modify), which is on the way but I don’t expect it to solve it completely, since I had the same issue with a complete other bolt.

Is the T8 Enhanced MWS buffer recoil spring any good? Should I pair it with an H1 buffer or H0?

Nope. It's designed for the significantly heavier BCG used in the T8/CGS system, it'll put extra unnecessary tension into the FCG and will undoubtedly cause the bolt catch to stop working.

What would you suggest for buffer/buffer spring upgrades? (I've already bought the JP buffer spacers since my lower receiver was getting significant damage)

 
Couldn't resist and ended up with an MWS after returning from an 11 year airsoft break. I told myself I'd limit myself to to an NGRS or two but that didn't last.

Whats the verdict on the Guns modify Pmags? I keep seeing mixed opinions. I'd rather have the TM ones but seems that going to be impossible for a while. Tempted to grab 4 for now and then switch to the stanags if they are ever available.

 
Finally got round to setting this up after finishing work for the week and noticed the trademarks are more less missing on the lower. Looks like it’s not been stamped properly.

Anyone else seen this issue?

Given the unavailability of genuine TM mags what is the 2nd best option? Fire Support have some choices?

 
Chaps! I’m back! Well kinda ?

Took a long break from Airsoft but figured I’d dust off the MWS first. Last time I used it was about 2.5 yrs ago maybe longer! After Nurpol gate I mothballed the MWS ?. Madness I know….

So, i guess I’ll just need to clean and lube her up in the usual  places right? Answers on a postcard! ?
