When I saw an ICS L85 go up on Classifieds for £125 I was like "I've got to get that". I wish I never had to sell my old one..

Only problem is I'd forgotten how heavy this thing is!

I've seen a lot of people comment on the weight but I've found that it's the most comfortable rifle I own. For me I find the weight works with my body as it sits into my shoulder nicely, as opposed to front heavy guns.

The only thing I would suggest would be grabbing a genuine SA80 sling from a surplus or eBay as it's great for when it's not in use. I have the single point sling on my osprey too which is also very handy but a pain to fit on the molle.

I'm just used to playing with polymer bodies. This thing is about 3 or 4 times heavier - even with no attachments! It's all in the rear, so it's not too bad.

Your L85 is really starting to grow on me. I think the old olive green bits used to put me off. All in black it looks so good. I'd use a standard strap for it over a sling unless it was high quality.

I might just keep it as is. I don't intend on running an infantry loadout - although I have the kit - and aren't too arsed on trying to replicate any specific setup. Slapped a few optics and attachments on it to see what I like best and I'm probably just going to go with a basic RDS. Don't really need any magnification at the sites I play at, but might pick up a Elcan Specter replica if I can find one at a decent price. Pretty sure that's a 1-4x.

This ain't a bad price but I don't have £50 to spend right now haha!

Oh. My. Lord.

This excites the little 14 year old me a lot.

Really want to get hold of a couple of Guarder frames for them, a bit less shiny, and a tan mag release for the black lower.

This is my new gun, Tippmann M4, playing with attachments until I can actually fire it, hopefully tomorrow.

Feels lighter than some M4's I have held at Skirmishes, no gearbox?  For me that is a plus.

I don't like the handle on the front, but don't like holding the rails either, so am open to suggestions.

A really short vertical grip, maybe one of the magpul RVG replicas that you can chop in half without crying too much..

Or a magpul AFG..

Go to a shop and try a few..

If you want to c-clamp like our Lord and Savior Costa you'll need a longer rail though..

Don't think C clamp is for me,

Happy with the stock, it was the foregrip, looked out of place and doesn't feel as comfortable on the M4 compared to the G36C.

Cheers

Nice article (apparently it looks cool to murder grammar now)..

A bit of OT:

I use the c clamp, but not put my thumb "over the top", it rests to the side, pointing forward..

I use it mainly because I feel less fatigued at the end of the day.. By holding my guns by the magwell or the bare handguard my wrist starts to ache really quickly, whereas with the c clamp I can go on for days..

Maybe it's just my guns being front heavy, especially my tournament gun..

/ot

The MFT stock is awesome, really comfortable and light, it also looks cool  :D

it does have a downside for AEG users, it has no space at all for the battery..

Took a few photos today while the weather was good:
