Today I put this together from spare bits I had taking up space in a drawer.

The Vietnam era carbines are wicked. This is perfect for reenactment or a namsofter. I say E1/2 because it has a short barrel with full fencing on the E2 marked lower. xm177s ended up being a mish mash of parts so units would end up with rifles built out of whatever parts they could get their hands on, especially with carbines. 

Classic Army E2 marked receiver. G&P E1 front end and hand guard set. G&P stock tube. SRC stock (got in a bin of bits, could use a lick of paint) JG A1 grip. CYMA gearbox. Guarder hop unit and rubber. ZCI precision inner barrel.

Its solid as a rock. Really sturdy and feels great. 
 

The charging handle doesn’t work, I think the spring is caught on the gearbox or something. Sure it’s an easy fix but I don’t wanna open her up again. 
 

ive got it doing 250 on 0.25s. Little low but the range is awesome and makes up for it thanks to the hop and barrel. Needs a 1350 mah split style 7.4 lipos. Can include one just let me know.
 

this could be a cheap do it upper for someone who knows what they’re doing. A drop in gearbox or just a heavier spring would ramp up that fps. And if this is your thing, it’s a much cheaper way of getting hold of a reliable ‘nam classic without spending G&P money if you can find them, or importing. 
 

I don’t have any short mags that feed properly but will throw in a few hi cap 30 round style ones. 
 

I will also include if you like a little barrel extension to turn it into an E2.
