This could be a dumb question, but I need to swap the retention strap to the larger one on this nuprol holster

I don't want to damage it, hence asking before I go too ham... Is it just a case of being a little more forceful than I am, or is there some knack to it? Sorry if it's obvious and I'm being daft. Just struggling to get the small one off and already began chewing the plastic up a bit in my attempts.
