danf1234
Has anyone locked the HK417 to allow it to be used as a DMR? What’s involved and what parts are needed?
Jefferson2000
If you are looking for a permanent mod then it should just be as simple as filing down a sear. Not seen inside one but they usually work on a very similar principle to real ones in that regard. Take off the lower and snap some photos and we might be able to tell. danf1234
No my gun but this is a pic of the lower. I would want it permanently fixing to semi for use as a DMR
Jefferson2000
Yeah looks like filing would work. If you could find an exploded diagram we might be able to work it out from that

Gavthegat
Hi bud. You just need a semi ‘disconnector’ to achieve what your after. In the diagram it’s part 08-11, but that’s the wrong type as it allows full auto. German spec HK417s have semi auto disconnectors. Umarex ref is 80.20.0022, probably order direct from VFC. Jefferson2000
Above option is the best if you can order the part. Also achievable by filing 08-20 I would caution though that parts like these are not designed to function with material removed, and I doubt that they have been case hardened or similar as they would be in a real one. So a real risk of breaking. But defo buy the part if available as this will retain value if you decide to ship on at some point.
danf1234
I have sent an email to VFC customer service to see if that’s a possibility Gavthegat
