Hey all, I have made a wanted thread in the correct place, but I am wondering if anyone in the Northwest area has an M240 (any make) or an M249 mk1 (any make). I have a vehicle mount for a GPMG and want to see if this will fit an airsoft M240, but given they seem to be so hard to get hold of right now, I am settling into the idea of seeing if an M249 mk1 can be customised to fit the mount so I can use the vehicle for some private shoots on land or if I can take it to a site.

I am in Cheshire in Crewe. If anyone has any photos or can get me measurements that would be ace, rather ask the community before shelling out like £500 on a new toy that may not even fit.

Thanks
Seb

As far as remember, some m240 will fit the mounts with slight modding.

Both the trigger happy and inokatsu versions just need the mount hole area filed down a bit. And rear mount hole honed out a bit.

Other makes I'm not sure.

As for m249s, if you want to mount them properly they will not fit! The rear mount hole gas a small metal tube holding the trigger group on. And the front mount holes are in the completely wrong place. I had to have mine (G&P) front mount ground of and welded in correct spot as it is tgat much out. I have seen some just mount them via the front holes, which works to a degree  but can see they're sat back just slightly.

Then you'd have to make a new box mag with extended feed tube etc for them to work on the mounts.

Thanks for the reply mate. The only reason I am even entertaining the M249 route is the sheer lack of availability of an M240. And rather than having nothing its better to have something. Its a play thing at the end of the day so accuracy isn't really a think if I am moving to an M249. I was thinking of making some adapter bracket with my rather basic fabrication skills, and then bolt a bracket designed around whatever M249 I will buy to bolt to it. Moving the box mag around wont be an issue.

Just rapidly running out of summer and "play time" before the winter work starts so just seeing really, but looks like Ill probably just have to give up on this!
