Second skirmish day, another great day at Humber Airsoft.

Got my second dose of Airsoft skirmishing under my belt on Sunday. Perfect weather after the heatwave and downpours the previous few days, once again it was a great day.

 

Had a couple of extra’s this time, 2 of my sons pals, also 12. I know them both well and they are both sensible lads, all behaved well, played safely and had a great time.

 

As before everyone was very welcoming, though there was quite a bit of overkill going on which led to a semi only ruling for the last couple of games. The marshalls as usual were right in the thick of it and keeping the lid on. I fell foul of this myself, in the dark shade of the woods on a domination game I just did not see the guys hand up. A walk to their spawn, an apology and a handshake later it was sorted.

 

On a separate game I was called out for blind firing into a room at the village, a big no-no on the site and elsewhere I should imagine, however the head marshal had eyes on from when I entered from his lofty tower and could see that I had eyes down the barrel, one advantage of being 6’4”, most of the windows are at chest height for me! Wasn’t the smartest move as framed by the window I took a hit myself, but you have to expose yourself to get a shot. Once again it was sorted amicably, no hard feelings, 

 

Had a surprise at the chrono check, I had been working on the spring to get a bit closer to the site limits a couple of days back. Had it at 330 ish on my chrono, but the site chrono read 270? Not sure what’s going on there, seems s big disparity even for uncalibrated equipment. My Specna SA-E04 didn’t feel ‘slow’ and it performed without a hitch and gained a few more battle scars, falling down 45 degree cliffs is not recommended to anyone, especially fat middle aged fits like me! Managed somehow to not get impaled on the way down and bruised only my pride!

 

Slowly starting to get an idea of roles, can see myself moving towards a DMR set up but I know thats a pretty specialised and costly set up to get a good ‘un. We’ll see, a couple of more games until Ukara beckons and will have some choices to make.
