So I recently decided to jump back into airsofting after an 8 year break (im 24 now) . I feel that now with my regular income I will be able to enjoy the sport a lot more.

My last gun I owned was a VFC Scar H (pictured)with a handful of upgrades and it ran like a dream.

Ive heard TM do a lovely recoil version, but from what I remember of TM, they ran a slightly low FPS, meaning that hits may not be felt at range.

I am looking to set a budget of £600 to get me going, what sort of rifle would you lot reccomend, baring in mind that ive had a decent set of guns in the past and im not so keen on going back to JG quality.

if anyone has suggestions then please comment!

All your help and advice is great.

Cheers

Owen

Welcome :).

I would always recommend TM recoils; great out the box, good hop-up to lift BBs (0.25g to 0.3g), with fps that you can play anywhere.

The TM SCAR L means that you can share the magazines with other TM recoils (you always end up buying more guns ;)).

Thanks mate.

Im definately intrigued by the TM's. Im the sort of person to upgrade everything or do nothing at all so I feel these may appeal. Because if i ramp up that FPS il just have to upgrade everything else to support it. Are there places that do full upgrades or drop in gearboxes (I remember systema making drop in GB's back in the day)

Not much need to upgrade TM recoils.  Wiring for Deans and using LiPo batteries is main one.  Some buy and fit a Spectre for pre-cocking/trigger response, etc. Maybe fit a slightly stronger M100 spring to increase fps but to be honest no need to go inside until something fails, the TM magic is pretty good without tinkering. Have a search in the Advice & Technical Help section for some idea, for example:
