Hello All,

My name is Tinjo Klein Severt from the Netherlands, 27 years of age and together with my girlfriend a fanatic player in the Netherlands.

I registered to this forum for a few questions about transporting, storing and using my Airsoft Devices (RIF's) in the UK while being there on vacation.

Me and my girlfriend are staying in Cardiff for vacation somewhere in May (we have yet to decide when to go) and we want to play at 1 or 2 sites nearby Cardiff (we found Task Force already and maybe D-Tact or if you guys have a better idea, let me know) and we want to bring our own gear and RIF's with us.

We already know that we can travel with them with the ferry from Calais to Dover, but what are the rules in the UK about transporting them with the car and where do we have to leave them when we are not playing because we will stay in Cardiff for 5 days and we will only be playing 1 or 2 days of our staying time. Can we leave them in our car if they are out of sight (in the trunk) and in locked cases or can/do we have to take them inside our hotel rooms and leave them there unless we are heading for a site?

Ofcourse I have my license from the Netherlands and reservation from the site as proof for the authorities for transporting them and having them and I will make sure that I will properly handle the RIF's as I said, locking them up in a locked case, keeping the magazines and BB's apart from the RIF's etc.

I hope my questions are understandeble because my grammar isn't always that accurate haha.

Thanks already for your help.

Hi,

Im not 100% on this so dont take my word for it.

This is from research when I wanted to go to Europe.

I would recommend bring something that says you are playing Airsoft at Cardiff (i.e a booking) along with a phone number for the site in case you are stopped.

Whenever I have traveled with any gun be it airsoft or real shotgun, I have always kept them locked away, magazine out, "ammo" in a different area, and not accessible during my drive.

***** You may potentially want to disassemble your gun when travelling over from another country, but that is up to you *****

I wouldnt leave them in the boot of your car unless you have a cabinet of some description or something that hides them completely until you arrive at site or hotel, as someone may see you with them or see the box and call the police, which is not something you want.

I would take them into the hotel room, and leave them in their gun box/bag LOCKED. Also, mention to the hotel that you have an Airsoft gun which only fires BB's maybe? Just in case their cleaners mention to managers or something.

Good luck!
