Hey folks, picked up this G36 a while ago second hand. I was told it's an ares.

Anyhow, turns out i need a few parts. My cutout level has sheered off so no safety, my selector plate is bent and a few things im thinking of just upgrading. Problem is i can't figure out what make it is and im struggling to locate the correct parts.

Here's a few pics, hope you can help

Ares/Umarex G36: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/ares-umarex-g36c-airsoft-gun-aeg-25748x

well sort of - it aint the shorter G36 but explains what it is likely to be...

Umarex have the trades - could be a snide china import but most likely a umarex one

parts "should" be compatible - in some different guns

certain v3 gearboxes may need the circular mount used on AK's fire select ground down for other guns - G36 or SIG's

internally it should be all same stuff

some makes of gun can have slightly different fire selector plates to other makes

saw a v3 SRC post and the aftermarket fire selector plate wasn't the same - think it was a SRC box

Only way to know is very closely compare the parts you replace with the new parts

if there is a weird difference then you should have an idea of what you need to try to locate from original aeg company

Pretty sure it should be ok internally to replace stuff inside the box and what not....

But not outside the box like selector....

Ahhh - if it is an Ares/Umarex then the selector plate is different...

That's perfect thanks, the selector plate on that link is identical, couldn't find it anywhere else for some reason!

I think it is an Umarex, or a very very old ares - Did a bit of digging and the gun is from around 2008.  Still can't find a cut off lever that matches but you've been very helpful!
