BrightCandle
Recently got hold of a real steel red dot sight that has a 3 colour reticle (red, green and blue). Glass Always the big question how is the glass? Pretty clear. Its not absolutely clear there is a slight colour shift but its not going to cause problems indoors at all and so far very little in the way. Reticle 5 moa and nice and sharp with no ghosting that I can see. On each colour it only has 3 brightness settings and it goes from good for indoors to fine outdoors. 3 settings isn't really fantastic as you are unlikely going to have something ideal but it does cover a reasonable range and there is definitely a difference in the actual apparent brightness for the 3 colours, they aren't equally bright. Adjustment 1 moa adjustment so perfectly fine for airsoft uses and nice. Mounting Its a bit low. Being a 30mm tube red dot its got a similar profile to the aimpoint but its not got the stand that pulls it up off the gun so without a mesh mask on its still too low on the tar 21 and needing a low riser. Probably fine for a G36 but its too low for an M4 certainly once you take lower face protection into account. Tough Its got a rubberised like coating, its pretty solid. It also comes with lens caps that flip up out the way and have a thin plastic in them (one orange and one clear). These are really good ways to get protection for the glass in the sight and make it initially pretty safe from BB strikes and give you the ability to make sacrifice puks of polycarbonate and mount them really easily. Overall its a pretty decent reticle and glass which are my main considerations. More expensive than the G&P aimpoint that is its closest comparison but its clearly a better made item and has a better reticle and glass.
