ConnorMcDermott24 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I'm thinking about buying one of the new TM recoils (416, Mk17 or the CQBR). If I were to get the CQBR the one thing I would want to do is to change the rail. I like the LVOA and I know you can buy the aftermarket rail from various different sites, what I want to know is whether I can fit that rail on the CQBR? Will it need work with a hacksaw? Will I need to make new screw holes? Will I need to make a custom barel nut?
Supporters jcheeseright Posted July 18, 2016 Supporters Posted July 18, 2016 No need to take a hacksaw to it, the threads are AEG spec so 99% of aftermarket rails will go on fine. You WILL need to shim the barrel though as aftermarket barrel nuts are generally too long and won't go down tight enough on the outer barrel. Also, the CQBR has been on the market for over 5 years now... new on a geological scale, not so much on an airsoft scale
ConnorMcDermott24 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 Would a barrel replacement be easier? The Angry gun wire cutter is either 13.5" or 16" so I don't know if changing the barrel would be easier?
Supporters jcheeseright Posted July 18, 2016 Supporters Posted July 18, 2016 The limiting factor is the length of threads on the receiver, not the barrel.
ConnorMcDermott24 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 What about charging handles? Never really thought of it in airsoft because the charging handle doesn't really serve that much of a purpose (of course except to adjust your hop).
Supporters jcheeseright Posted July 18, 2016 Supporters Posted July 18, 2016 charging handle is proprietary.
