computer game I used to play that i want to find again

I remember playing an old space fighter combat game, thing is I can only remember what the human space fighters look like, basically a missile with a bubble cockpit on the top and a large square pod of rockets on the bottom. and the beginning sequence consisted of a damaged one being caught in a wormhole, any idea's.

I think the game you might be look for is called X: Beyond the Frontier, As when you first start out in the game your a test pilot for earth and end up being sent off to a far of galaxy due to a wormhole.

it's along those lines, but it was an actively war game, the pilot was forced into a wormhole because he was being pursued, I think he was the last survivor of his squadron.
