I've been on this forum as the "legal guy" for some time now, and I don't think it's big-headed of me to say I get the bulk of legal questions asked via PM.

 

Recently, mostly since christmas, people have been asking me questions, witholding or forgetting to mention information and then using my answer, my name and my reputation to convince people to do unsafe things. Perhaps unintentionally, but who am I to say.

 

The point is this. When you ask me a question, I expect ALL the information about a situation, otherwise the advice I give you could get you, a parent, a friend, me, this forum or airsoft on the whole into trouble, and I've worked too hard for almost half my life to see that happen.

 

Most recent example; having a parent buy a two-tone for you. Asking me if they can get you a gift? Yes they can. Not telling me you work for them unpaid and they will be buying you the gift as a direct and expected reward in place of currency? Totally different situation. And, no, they can't.

 

If this continues to happen, I will cease offering advice completely. I don't want anyone who thinks I'm talking about them to start whinging here, or anyone who thinks I'm being unfair to whinge; deal with it.
