YouTube channels on Airsoft

This guy was pretty decent https://www.youtube.com/@GunfatherMilsim

He's an active-duty SWAT officer in the US who also plays airsoft, so he put together some of the more relevant techniques in some videos. He's gone back to just real steel stuff now, but his old stuff is still up.

Some of this guys stuff is great and so on point for this thread! Thanks

Hi, can anyone suggest any channels I should be watching?

Tactics more than equipment ideally.

Thanks.
It's a waste of time apart from certain review channels. Youtube airsoft is all about clickbait and bullshit drama which doesn't represent reality.

The Patrol Base guys have also done a few tutorials on their YT channel. Which I thought were very easy to watch.

Don't threaten me with a good time! But I do agree that some real-steel shooting practices do work well in airsoft, while others (most of them) very much do not; some do work with a bit of modification though.

Oh don't get me wrong, there's a lot to learn, but BF, Hop, and GT are all there to keep that consumer industry churning in the US. Just constantly buying new guns, buying new parts for those guns, cycling through built-up and stripped-down builds, etc, etc.

Watching Guntubers buy and sell LPVOs and Dot+Mag combos like 5 times round as the discourse goes back and forth between the two gets aggravating and I think Airsofters don't need to worry about like 99% of what they talk about.

Stuff about concealment, moving quietly through terrain, and observation are useful if you're on a large site/MilSim though. Getting serious about gear is especially fun for MilSims.

Thanks for all the replies.

Another question, my son wants to know if he's allowed to play with a pistol in each hand? 😁

I think not, but I said id ask.

Akimbo he calls it.

TBH he'd be able to almost anything he wants, akimbo would be cool to watch... esp if he face plants (safely of course).

That made me laugh out loud...

He says he's going to practice first in the garage. But your right, would be funny to watch.

He's watched too much John wick I think. 😆

The guys on our site want 3 point contact on the rifles, which spoiled his fun.

Thanks for the reply mate.

This arrived yesterday, another present for his birthday. Can't wait to try it.

In my experience duel welding pistols is dependant on site. I have done it and it’s huge fun for 2 or 3 mins then a pain when you have to reload the mags. Have a look at GBB SMG’s if he wants that kind of fun! Love using my WE Apache MP5 for up close and personal with a kick.

Really interested to know how he gets on with the mini launcher, looked at them a couple of times but never purchased.

We've got an mp5 in the collection, the cyma blue edition. It's my favorite. His birthday not till December, but I buy early as Xmas expensive time already. Will definitely post update when he's tried it. I test fitted it, but fighting the urge to shoot it... He's got a TM gold match to go with it for BDay.

I mentioned reloading, his answer was 2 holsters. He has an answer for everything. 😆

Limited options such as pistols change the dynamics, and as such are typically a limiter when up against others with higher capacity.

However they are fun, and with the limitations when you get the kills then the payback is higher

To be effective twin pistols need to have their reloading managed - not just having  a holster to deposit one in order to release your hand for magazine changes, but avoiding them both being empty at once.

It feels great to hold out both arms alternatively firing one shot per side, but then they both need reloading at once rendering you ineffective.

Start the game favouring one side (eg right hand) until it’s probably half way ahead of the other.
Then use them together

When you’ve either counted it to empty (or more likely you notice that nothing is coming out) then it’s time to change magazine, but you still have the left one ready to shoot.

Practice reloading so you don’t have to holster one - it helps to have big hands and long fingers

If in a stable position you can drop a magazine, but it’s most likely that you want to stash it - pull it with your fingertips, drop into a dump pouch or down your shirt.  Again with fingertips pull a fresh magazine and insert - your right pistol is now full and your left is half full

If convenient move the dumped magazine to a pouch (and remember to manage what pouched magazines are full / empty)

By keeping both pistols out when reloading you have the ability to shoot, a holstered pistol can’t shoot anyone (except yourself)

I don't see why they wouldn't let him akimbo. It's worse than just using one gun in game terms, though it is really fun.

Brilliant reply, I'll read it him. Thanks.

We have 5 mags for 2 pistols.

A PS ….  Aim to practice reloads from either hand, which means you can keep the left pistol on the left and the right on the right

Alternatively if better at reloading in one particular side then you can swap pistols over as they empty, that can mean you always know which will run out before the next and can reload from the optimum side

I'm worried he'll drop and break all my mags... 😂

I sent him your posts, can't let him read it all or he'll know what he's getting. Thanks again, appreciate your time and effort mate. He's buzzing now.

Love this, I originally wanted to put one on my DMR as a I case someone slips inside the MED but I don’t think these have the 30m range to cover the gap.
Cheers mate. Dying to shoot it, but I want my son to be the first...

It feels quality and well made, and fits snuggly and securely.
