Who was your first?

We shot the real AK in may in Poland, was offered the krink but I didn't appreciate what it was.

What are you using at the moment? If you're on a budget and want something that will at least last a while I've bought loads of surplus from goarmy. They stock cadets stuff as well if you need young un sizes

He's using his old cadet uniform. I asked him about the Chinese one, he wants a Polish uniform as his mum's Polish. I'm in ex British army dpm too, but was tempted with Russian too.

Strictly wasn't allowed to play FPS games or have toy guns of any description until maybe age 13-14, yet got constantly taken to every military museum type place we ever went near to in the UK my entire childhood.. some sort of parenting equivalent to standing on the beach and telling the tide not to get your feet wet. Used to build 'guns' out of my lego.

First springer (XM177E2) around 15 years old from some website with BB in the title, probably long defunct, still got the gun though. Once I had some money from my temp office job before joining up I got the Classic Army M15A4 (M4A1 with M16A2 stock) in person from Wolf Armouries. I'm sure it was in 2006 but I can't remember when exactly. I didn't have to give any defence, so must have been very shortly before the VCRA came in, though I had no idea of said looming law at the time.

Invader gear do EMR and partisan camo stuff if you want ruski gear. Bullseye country sport have them in stock and really quick delivery

first airsoft gun was around the late 80's and was a model kit of some sort of S&W pistol that fired 6mm BB's once built. Basically a put it together springer. I also had a bunch of LS model guns around the same time Colt commando, AK74, etc that worked like the real thing once built and even had some nice gold chrome ammo. I also had a few air rifles then including a webley tempest however I always wanted the Jackel Air rifle as it looked a bit like a M16 but never bought one.
I bought a bunch of springer pistols in Italy back in the 90's and by that time I had a few TM AEG's Famas, M16A1, AK47, springer XM177, springer MPL and a few others. Most of them are still knocking around but have had various metal externals fitted (Systema metal upper and Lower on the SR16 for example).
I think my collection is around 400 currently which is made even worst by the fact that I like to make them a bit more like their RS counterpart. For example i have couple of VFC AK74's with soviet AK74 furniture (there were 4 different styles of wooden Ak74 furniture issued over the life of the AK74 before switching to plum plastic and eventually black plastic before the upgrade to the AK74M), RS rear sights and slings. VFC made the best looking AK74's, in my opinion, and look ever better with the RS bits stuck on them.
I grew up reading Commando magazines, Sven Hassel and Leo Kessler novels and spending 13 years in the military and then 12 years contracting in Iraq and Afghan hasn't helped the cause!

400... Wow. I have a lot of catching up to do... 😆

I used to play paintball at amateur tournament level and had some pretty high-end kit. A mate wanted to try paintball as he'd played airsoft (which I'd never tried) so we had a deal, he'd come and play paintball if I went and tried airsoft. This was back in the days just before the stupid VCRA came in. He tried paintball and said it's OK but you wait until you try airsoft. Went with him the following weekend to a site in an old clay slip factory in Stoke and at lunch asked me what I thought of paintball now. My genuine response was "What's paintball?". I sold all my paintball kit shortly thereafter and bought my first RIF a DE Benelli M3 Tactical from JD in Cannock and never looked back. I've still got that old M3 in my collection along with another 13 shotties (Yes I'm a shotgun whore).

Springer Auto 9 from Wonderland Models on Lothian road in 2000. Then a Springer P99 after the Auto 9 was stolen, a random NBB 1911 and finally a used TM Thompson and off to play at the 1st Fort in fife.

GoldenEye 007 and Half-Life were probably the two main reasons I was bitten by the bug. My first airsoft gun was a KWC Walther P99 springer in the early 2000s (I think it was from bbguns.co.uk). I replaced it with a gas blowback version a few months later after I got a student job then added a couple of TM MP5s to build a collection within a year. I bought from Wolf Armouries and lugged the back home in a suitcase. 😅 I still have the MP5K in my collection. I also got one of the TM AEPs (a Beretta M92F) that had the safety in the grip beneath the trigger guard. It was pretty pants even back then.

As a kid I had an interest in guns but was never allowed anything more powerful than a water pistol. Despite this I had a couple of cheap springers and later got into plinking with air guns. After a tax rebate I was flicking through a copy of gunmart trying to pick a new CO2 pistol there was an article about skirmishing at electrowerkz in London, I'd played paintball so was really intetested. Later when said rebate came through I ended up dropping about a grand in wolf armouries. 22 years later

Started in '97 when a friend brought a copy of gunmart in to school and we poured over it over break times.

Found the Airsoft section towards the back, and saw that you could buy these things easily enough.
Progressed from spring & NBB pistols to a KWC micro Uzi, and eventually onto a marui M4A1, and then it spiraled out of control until now; 28 years later.

I started around 2004 or so. I used to go fishing with my old man and the place that sold fishing tackle also sold air rifles. I picked up the air rifle catalogue and in it saw this incredibly 'Auto Electric Guns'. I bought a springer pistol soon after from a place in central Manchester, then ordered an ICS MP5 from the Zero One website.
