Who makes the best MK23 SOCOM Pistol?

Let's get it right, a MK23 is a USP with a slightly longer barrel and thread. Obviously it seems massive to girly handed peeps, but it's not that big. It's not as big as a DEagle; it's not even as big as a P45 Match (which is where sub-zero truly resides).

I carry my USP in a drop leg (and yeah, that's without a suppressor and about 12mm shorter). I have only had to quick draw it once, as a sniper back up - I managed to pull it and shoot 2 opponents, and I reckon I could have got a 3rd, before they could raise their AEG's from muzzle down cross chest carry - and this wasn't a sneaky thing, I was stood chatting in the middle of a track at GZ, nowhere near the closest skirmish, and a pair of Deltas turned up unexpectedly - we could all see each other as plain as day, I just reacted quickest.

So I don't see any reason to think that, without the suppressor, a MK23 would be difficult to quick draw. I expect it does depend on the size of your hands: mine are glove size 9 width but long, maybe 10 1/2 = just a blim too big for British Army size Large, but not enough for XL, so not massive by any means. Personally I expect I'd have more trouble drawing and aiming a tidler quick because my natural grip pulls them to the left and i have to consciously feel for the the trigger, since it is closer than my 'trigger pulling motion' expects to find it, which is also a bugger if the trigger guard is small.

MK23 is bigger than the USP. Even the grip is bigger, the trigger is further away from the grip, etc.

Comparing to the Desert Eagle:

Looking them up, the MK23 is 245mm long

The H&K USP is 173-240mm long (P45 match is the 240mm one so a massive 5mm shorter than the MK23 :P )

Desert Eagle is around 270mm long

So no, the MK23 isn't as big as a Deagle but it's in the same ballpark.

If you can find a decent holster than really the Mk23 should be relatively easy to draw as they are quite light. Obviously it would be easier to draw a glock etc. The cheaper Mk23's do tend to need the silencer for performance at any significant range so it you are going to rely on it as an emergency backup then the TM version would be advisable.

The cheap Mk23's (ASG/HFC) are never going to be as good as the TM one. If you are looking for a quiet pistol for CQB or a sniper backup and don't want to spend a lot of money however they are very decent pistols. Mine cost me £45 and gets me more kills relative to the length of time it's in my hand than any other gun.

there isn't an airsoft HK45C at the moment... so it's kinda moot! Blackhawk don't make a holster for it either, the Safariland 6280 holster is what you'd need.

Just spotted this - may be worth dinging uk.redwolf to see what price they have it for.

Get an AEG for your first gun. Unless you're minted of course, in which case, pistols wise I agree it sounds like £80 well spent (inc shipping and gas). But £80 would buy you most of this and you'd get a lot more use out of it.

It seems like a good deal but for where I go I couldnt use it, 350 fps max limit because cqb.

Also is taiwangun a good company because you guys seem to link them a lot, I dont know a lot of retailers and I try to stick to UK retailers if poss but if they are good i might consider purchasing off of them.

They're great, yeah. If you need it under 350FPS they'll fit a Guarder SP100 spring for just the price of the spring. Free shipping for a spend of over about £60 too. Only thing you will need on top is a good battery - the 1100mAh one that comes with it is only useful as an emergency backup - ie a backup to your backup. But 1 1600mAh Vapex / VP stick battery will get you skirmishing - componentshop.co.uk £12.40 + P&P. Can't comment on the 8Fields batteries twg sell as i've never used them, but buying 1 would save you the P&P and if it's shit I reckon twg would refund you. They seem pretty keen to establish themselves as good for customer service - a bit on my CM.048 broke (the handguard takedown lever) and it isn't covered by their warranty apparently, but their tech is sending me a replacement anyway.

TBH if you're happy to buy an AK and can afford the extra, the CM.048M is a much better gun and still on offer from twg for £148-odd - still needs a replacement battery though. The chargers that CYMA guns come with can be used perfectly well so long as you use the App (link at the top of forum pages) to calculate how long to charge for and either use a timer plug or set an alarm to stop you overcharging the battery.

I see they are based in poland.

When I get my UKARA would I just order from them or would I have to provide my UKARA ID as I would not want to get it destroyed by customs.

I dont really order from abroad much so im still fairly new to this.

Are there any GBB mk23 and does the lam unit got onto a ISP? Does anybody know as I like the idea and love the look but would want a gas blow back pistol as it's better shits and giggles

You tell them your UKARA# in the comments dialogue box when you place your order and they write it on the package for Customs to see. I've started putting it in place of "Company" before my name also: just "UKARA# SKI01234" - 2 out of 2 guns through without a hitch.
