what does your other half think of your airsofting??

I'm in my 40s now, and the Mrs thinks it's a bit sad to be playing soldiers at my age. But I was doing tournament paintball when we met 20 odd years ago, so it's nothing new

Similar to some of the comments above - it's not like I play golf all weekend or spend every weekend traveling to football matches. So it doesn't take up too much of my time for the odd few games a year I manage these days.

I earn my money, so she doesn't mind what I spend it on once the bills and mortgage are covered. Luckily she can't tell the difference between guns, so as long as she never sees more than 2 out at the same time, she doesn't know how big my collection is Although she often makes comments about my dedicated camo cupboard. I keep telling her you need a different set for every occasion ;-)

Managed to persuade mine to play with me at the start of this year. She now plays regulary and has her own kit (Gone for the SBS blackout with MP5).

I have to say, it's good to be able to spend a day playing silly soldiers with her, as it's one more thing we can talk about. It's also something completely different and allows her to join in more conversations with me and my friends.

I do get a bit pissed off with other players who feel the need to 'Dominate' their enemies, especially the lasses, and especially when you know they've been hit because of the squeel.

My other half hates guns & violence in anyway so although she isnt really happy about what Airsoft portrays. she is happy that I am happy.

Airsoft is a father/son day for me & my boy so she is happy we have something together. I just always have to keep the rifs well hidden & only get them out every so often.....Which actually makes it easier for me to hide new kit as she is unfamiliar with my loadout

Don't have enough camo to get the playing-soldiers line off mine, instead she assumes this is the first step in me trying to become batman. Just need a billion dollar trust fund and some mountain-top ninjitsu training then i'm sorted

She don't like the marks it leaves, or when i've lazily left a gun out in pieces, but otherwise fine with it unless i opt to do it instead of something she wants to do on a specific day

Partner likes the idea of it. Planning on getting her a G&G CM16 300BOT later on this year as she isn't able to lug around the L86 all day.

B*llocks to that its the only time I get away from the nagging. God knows what the fallout would be if I shot her.Best thing about airsoft is that you can go alone and get some me time.

That is a valid point. A lot of men build a shed or go fishing for the same reason. Also, it makes it harder to conceal what guns you might have.

My wife thinks xbox is sad, my car is sad, my bike is sad, airsoft is sad, my drone is sad. my fish keeping isnt sad but i have too many tanks apparently so still get moaned at for that.

anything i find fun is sad.

Thats what I was thinking. After looking round your average safe zone I am surprised so many airsofters have a woman.

My wife doesn't mind the airsofting as such but she does roll her eyes a bit when yet another delivery turns up. As long as I take her out once in a while she's fine with me doing whatever. The impending purchase of a house that'll almost double my mortgage payments may well see UK Tactical's profits drop though....

I blame The Big Bang Theory for more woman considering dorks/nerds to be a better candidate than 'jocks' for molding into their idea of a good mate.

I'm hoping IT Support will become the new FireMan then i can get a GF upgrade, or at least work part time as a stripper after she dumps me for someone even more nerdy

i am 48 and really enjoying it, i go with my 2 sons, aged 29 & 17 and shes just glad im outta the house giving her some peace and quiet and have fun with my sons, only draw back is, im spending a fortune getting into airsoft lol

I'm on my own with my teenage son's & I take them to game days but still need/have to watch what I spend but it's usually my sister's that moan about what I do, my 3 kids get what they want/need so after everything's paid out, the rest gets put aside, even my 3 year old daughter likes to pull the trigger on my rifles & pistols but her mum would go mad if she found out

But Fuck it, they do there own thing so I just crack on & do what I want my parents will have my son's when I want to go on my own
